Fascinated by the mystical since a young child David found a connection between the various types of magical illusions employed by magicians and deeper spiritual truth. He has authored two books related to his passion for magic and the Catholic Faith; a children's book "Bigger and Better" and "Magi Theology" for which the Nihil Obstat and Imprematur were given by the Knoxville Diocese Bishop's office. In 2010, David discovered Mystic, Luisa Piccarreta and the “Book of Heaven” after a friend suggested some similarities with his own mystical theology.
David has formed “Your Faith Anew!” prayer and study group in 2017 with the goal of helping Catholics fall in love with their Faith. David firmly believes, “The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will and the gift enables us to practice our Faith in a Divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Luisa writes,
I continued to see my adorable Jesus in the same way – that is, in my interior – but I would see Him inside of me giving His back to the world, with a scourge in His hand, in the act of casting it over the creatures; and with this, it seemed that chastisements would occur over crops, as well as mortality of people. In the act of sending that scourge He spoke words of threat, among which I can only remember: “I did not want this, but you yourselves have provoked Me to exterminate you. Well then, I will exterminate you.” Having said this, He disappeared.

SPEAKER_00Welcome. This is David Russell and your faith anew, daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, March twelfth, nineteen oh two, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, you are infinite mercy and perfect justice. Teach us to live in your divine will so that our lives may console your heart rather than contribute to the sorrow caused by the sin of the world. May every thought, word, and action of this day be united with your divine fiat, bringing glory to the Father and salvation to souls. Amen. The prophet Isaiah writes in the book of Isaiah, chapter twenty six, verse nine. My soul yearns for you in the night. My spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph fourteen thirty Jesus' call to conversion and penance, like that of the prophets before him, does not aim first at outward workscloth and ashes, fasting and mortification, but at the conversion of the heart interior conversion. Louisa writes. I continue to see my adorable Jesus in the same way, that is, in my interior, but I would see him inside of me giving his back to the world, with a scourge in his hand in the act of casting it over the creatures. And with this it seemed that chastisements would occur over crops, as well as mortality of people. In the act of sending that scourge he spoke words of threat, among which I can only remember I do not want this, but you yourselves have provoked me to exterminate you. Well then, I will exterminate you. Having said this, he disappeared. This brief entry from Louisa's diary presents a powerful and sobering image. Jesus appears within her interior life, yet his posture reveals something deeply symbolic. He has turned his back to the world. In his hand is a scourge, ready to strike the earth. The words Jesus speaks are striking. I do not want this. Here we see a profound theological truth about God's justice. Divine chastisements are never arbitrary. They're not the first desire of God. The heart of Jesus desires mercy, repentance, and conversion. But human freedom is real, and when humanity persists in rebellion, injustice, and sin, the consequences of that rebellion unfold in history. The catechism reminds us that true conversion begins within the heart. The external cries that appear in the world often reveal an interior spiritual crisis within humanity. Yet the vision also reveals something very important about the mystical life. Louisa sees Jesus within her interior. This shows that souls closely united with Christ begin to share his concerns for the world. The saints become witnesses to the tension between divine mercy and divine justice. They carry the suffering of humanity within their prayer. In the spirituality of the divine will, this takes on an even deeper meaning. When a soul lives in the divine will, her acts can become acts of reparation for all a simple prayer, a small act of patience, a hidden sacrifice. When offered in union with the divine will, these acts can help obtain mercy for the world. While humanity may provoke justice, God continually raises up souls who appeal to his mercy through love, prayer, and reparation. The soul living in the divine will becomes a living echo of Christ's own plea. Father, forgive them. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, your sacred heart longs for the conversion of every soul. Even when humanity turns away from you, your mercy continues to seek us. Draw us deeper into the divine will so that our lives may become acts of love and reparation. May our prayers console your heart. May our sacrifices unite with yours. May every duty of our day become a channel of grace for the world. Guard our hearts from sin and from indifference. Help us to live in constant union with your divine fiat so that even the smallest acts of our lives may bring mercy to souls and glory to God. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. May this reflection help you remain attentive to the movements of God's mercy and justice in the world, and invite you to live more deeply united with his divine will. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
