Luisa writes,
My soul continued in its annihilation and fear of losing sweet Jesus, when, in one instant, He made Himself seen all of a sudden, and told me: “I keep you in the shadow of my Charity; and since a shadow penetrates everywhere, my love keeps you concealed everywhere and in everything. What do you fear then? How can I leave you while I keep you so sunken within my love?” While Jesus was saying this, I wanted to ask Him why He was not making Himself seen as usual, but Jesus disappeared from me immediately, and did not give me the time to tell Him even one word. Oh God, what pain!

Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith A New. Daily Reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, April 5th, 1899, volume two. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O Jesus, immerse us in the depths of your divine charity. Let your love surround us, conceal us, and sustain us, that we may never fear losing you, but live always hidden in you. Amen. Saint Paul writes in his letter to the Colossians, chapter three, verse three. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. The catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph twenty-seven, the desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God, and God never ceases to draw man to himself. In this truth, we see that even when God seems hidden, his love continues to surround and draw us into himself. Louisa writes My soul continued in its annihilation and fear of losing sweet Jesus when in one instant he made himself seen all of a sudden and told me I keep you in the shadow of my charity. And since a shadow penetrates everywhere, my love keeps you concealed everywhere and in everything. What do you fear then? How can I leave you while I keep you so sunken within my love? While Jesus was saying this, I wanted to ask him why he was not making himself seen as usual. But Jesus disappeared from me immediately, and did not give me the time to tell him even one word. Oh God, what pain. This passage reveals an amazing spiritual paradox. Even when Jesus seems absent, he is in fact more present than ever. He tells Louisa that she is hidden in the shadow of his charity, a love that penetrates everywhere. This is the life of the divine will. It is not a life of constant emotional consolation, but one of deep hidden union. The soul may feel abandoned, yet in truth is immersed more deeply in God than it realizes. Jesus' words challenge our fears. What do you fear? He asks. Our fear often comes from what we perceive, not from reality. In reality, the soul that desires God and lives in his will is already enveloped in his love. The disappearance of Jesus after his reassurance teaches us something essential. We are called to trust his word more than his felt presence. Faith matures when we believe without seeing. To live in the divine will means to accept both presence and absence with the same trust. When we feel him, we love him. When we do not feel him, we still love him because we know we are hidden within his charity. Let us pray. Oh Jesus, divine love, hide me in the shadow of your charity. Let your love penetrate every part of my being, even when I do not feel you. Remove my fears, my doubts, and my need for constant reassurance. Teach me to trust in your presence even in silence. May I live always immersed in your divine will, knowing that I am never outside of you, but always contained within your infinite love. Keep me faithful in both consolation and desolation, and let my soul rest securely in the truth that I am hidden in you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith in you today. Remember that even in moments when God seems distant, you're never outside his love. Remain faithful, remain trusting, and allow his divine charity to surround you in all things. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
