"Your Faith Anew!"
Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.
Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.
David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.
In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.
In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:
“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”
Join us daily as we seek not only to understand our Faith—but to live it fully, joyfully, and in union with the Divine Will.

Luisa writes,
Today I did my meditation on the harm that can come to our souls from the praises that other creatures give us. While I was doing the application to myself, to see whether there was complacency for human praises within me, Jesus came close to me and told me: “When a heart is full of the knowledge of self, the praises of men are like sea waves that rise and overflow, but never go out of their boundary. In the same way, human praises yell and shout, they clamor, they get close even to the heart, but in finding it full and well surrounded by the strong walls of the knowledge of self, unable to find a place for themselves, they draw back, causing no damage to the soul. So, this is what you must be careful about: taking the praises and scorns of creatures into no account.”

SPEAKER_01Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew. Daily Reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, April 23rd, 1899, volume two. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, you see into the depths of our hearts and know our need for purity of intention. Free us from the desire for human praise and from the fear of human judgment. Fill us with true knowledge of ourselves, so that we may live only for your glory. Amen. Saint Matthew writes in the Holy Gospel according to Matthew chapter six one. Beware of practicing your piety before men in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph eighteen twenty two. Charity is the theological virtue by which we love God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God. True charity directs the soul away from self seeking and toward God alone. When love is purified, it no longer seeks praise from others, but desires only to please God. Louisa writes Today I did my meditation on the harm that can come to our souls from the praises that other creatures give us. While I was doing the application to myself to see whether there was complacency for human praises within me, Jesus came close to me and told me When a heart is full of the knowledge of self, the praises of men are like sea waves that rise and overflow, but never go out of their boundary. In the same way, human praises yell and shout, they clamor, they get close even to the heart, but in finding it full and well surrounded by the strong walls of the knowledge of self, unable to find a place for themselves, they draw back, causing no damage to the soul. So this is what you must be careful about. Taking the praises and scorns of creatures into no account. In this passage, Jesus offers a powerful and liberating teaching. The soul that is grounded in true self-knowledge becomes immune to the instability of human opinion. How often do we allow our peace to rise and fall based on what others think of us? Praise can inflate us. Criticism can wound us. Both can distract us from the one thing that matters our relationship with God. Jesus gives us a helpful image, human praise as waves crashing against the soul. If the soul is empty, those waves can flood it, distort it, and carry it away. But if the soul is filled, filled with truth, with humility, with the knowledge of self, those waves can only rise and fall without causing harm. This knowledge of self is not discouragement or self-rejection. It's clarity. It's seeing ourselves as we truly are, loved by God, yet completely dependent on Him. It's recognizing that every good in us comes from Him, and every weakness calls us back to Him. In the divine will, this becomes even more important. When we act in union with God, our actions no longer seek human approval. They participate in divine intention. The soul becomes anchored, stable, and free. Jesus concludes with a simple but demanding instruction. Take neither praises nor scorns into account. This doesn't mean we ignore others, but that we are no longer ruled by them. Today, we're invited to build those strong walls of truth within us. Not walls of isolation, but walls of clarity, where only God's voice has the final word. Let us pray. Jesus my Lord, free my heart from the need for human approval. Remove from me every desire to be praised and every fear of being judged. Give me true knowledge of myself, humble, honest, and rooted in your truth. Let me see that all good comes from you, and that apart from you I can do nothing. Build within me strong walls of humility, so that the waves of human opinion may never disturb the peace you have placed in my soul. May I live only for you, act only for you, and seek only the glory that comes from God alone. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Let us walk forward with freedom, rooted not in the opinions of others, but in the truth of who we are before God. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
