"Your Faith Anew!"
Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.
Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.
David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.
In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.
In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:
“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”
Join us daily as we seek not only to understand our Faith—but to live it fully, joyfully, and in union with the Divine Will.

Luisa writes,
This morning my adorable Jesus came for a little, telling me: “My daughter, one who wants everything from God must give all of himself to God.” And He stopped, without telling me anything else for the time being. Seeing Him close to me, I said to Him: ‘Lord, have compassion on me; don’t You see how everything is dry and withered? It seems to me that I have become so dry, as if I had never received a drop of rain.’ And He: “So much the better. Don’t you know that the drier the wood, the more easily the fire devours it and converts it into fire? One spark alone is enough to ignite it. But if it is full of humors and not well dried, it takes a big fire to ignite it, and much time to convert it into fire. The same in the soul: when everything is dry, one spark alone is enough to convert her completely into fire of divine love.” And I: ‘Lord, You are making fun of me. How ugly, then, everything is; and besides, what do You have to burn if everything is dry?’ And He: “I am not making fun of you; you yourself cannot comprehend that when not everything is dry in the soul, complacency is a humor, satisfaction is a humor, one’s own taste is a humor, self-esteem is a humor. On the other hand, when everything is dry and the soul operates, these humors have no place from which to arise, and the Divine Fire, finding only the soul naked, as dry as she was created by It, with no other extraneous humors, since it is something that belongs to It, it is extremely easy for It to convert her into Its very Divine Fire. And after this, I infuse in her a garment of peace, and this peace is preserved by interior obedience, and kept by external obedience. This peace gives birth to the whole of God within the soul – that is, to all the works, the virtues and the ways of the Humanate Word – in such a way that one can see in her His simplicity, His humility, the dependency of His infantile life, the perfection of His adult virtues, the mortification and the crucifixion of His dying. But it always begins from this: one who wants the whole of Christ must give everything to Christ.”

SPEAKER_01Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew. Daily Reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, April 29th, 1902, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, you who purify and transform the soul through your divine love, grant us the grace to surrender everything to you. Strip away from us all that is not of you, every attachment, every complacency, every self-seeking desire, so that our souls may be dry wood ready to be consumed by the fire of your love. May we give ourselves completely to you, that we may receive the fullness of Christ within us. Through Christ our Lord we pray. Amen. Saint Paul the Apostle writes in his letter to the Romans chapter twelve verse one. I appeal to you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph fourteen thirty one. Interior repentance is a radical reorientation of our whole life, a return, a conversion to God with all our heart, an end of sin, a turning away from evil, with repugnance toward the evil actions we have committed. Today, Jesus teaches that this total offering and conversion of the soul prepares it to be fully transformed by divine love, becoming completely his Louisa writes This morning my adorable Jesus came for a little, telling me My daughter, one who wants everything from God must give all of himself to God and he stopped, without telling me anything else for the time being. Seeing him close to me, I said to him, Lord, have compassion on me. Don't you see how everything is dry and withered? It seems to me that I have become so dry, as if I had never received a drop of rain. And he So much the better. Don't you know that the drier the wood, the more easily the fire devours it and converts it into fire? One spark alone is enough to ignite it. But if it is full of humours and not well dried, it takes a big fire to ignite it, and much time to convert it into fire. The same in a soul. When everything is dry, one spark alone is enough to convert her completely into fire of divine love. And I Lord, you are making fun of me. How ugly then everything is? And besides, what do you have to burn if everything is dry? And he I am not making fun of you. You yourself cannot comprehend that when not everything is dry in the soul, complacency is a humor. Satisfaction is a humor. One's own taste is a humor. Self esteem is a humor. This peace gives birth to the whole of God within the soul, that is, to all the works, the virtues, and the ways of the humanate word, in such a way that one can see in her his simplicity, his humility, the dependency of his infantile life, the perfection of his adult virtues, the mortification and the crucifixion of his dying. But it always begins from this. One who wants the whole of Christ must give everything to Christ. Jesus gives us a paradox today. Dryness is not a failure, it's preparation. We often measure our spiritual life by feelings consolation, inspiration, fervor. But Jesus shows us that these can sometimes be humors, attachments of the soul that prevent full transformation. When the soul feels empty, stripped, even barren, something deeper is happening. God is drying the wood. Why? Because only dry wood can ignite instantly. One spark and it becomes fire. So too with the soul. When attachments are removed, self-esteem, personal satisfaction, preference for one's own way, the divine fire encounters no resistance. And what happens? Transformation. Not improvement, transformation. The soul becomes fire. Not merely loving God, but burning with his own love. And then comes peace. Not a fragile peace dependent on circumstances, but a deep, infused peace sustained by obedience, interior and exterior. A peace that gives birth to Christ Himself within the soul. Jesus describes this beautifully. His simplicity, his humility, his hidden life, his suffering all begin to be reproduced in the soul. The soul becomes another living image of Christ. But it all begins with one condition total surrender. One who wants everything from God must give all of himself to God. Nothing held back, nothing reserved. Because only when we give all can God give all. Strip away every attachment that resists your work. If dryness is needed, we accept it. If emptiness is required, we embrace it, for we trust that in this stripping you are preparing us for something greater. Make our souls like dry wood, ready, receptive, open, so that at the touch of your grace we may be ignited into your own divine fire. Clothe us with your peace, a peace born of obedience, a peace that sustains us in all things. Reproduce within us your life, your humility, your simplicity, your love, your hiddenness, your sacrifice. Take all that we are, Lord, our thoughts, our desires, our will, and transform them into yours. May we hold nothing back, so that you may give us everything.
SPEAKER_02Amen.
SPEAKER_01Thank you for joining your faith anew today. If you feel dryness in your spiritual life, don't be discouraged. Instead, see it as God's invitation to deeper surrender. Offer him everything, your will, your desires, your expectations, and allow his divine fire to do the rest. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
