"Your Faith Anew!"
Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.
Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.
David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.
In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.
In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:
“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”
Join us daily as we seek not only to understand our Faith—but to live it fully, joyfully, and in union with the Divine Will.

Luisa writes,
This morning, Jesus hardly made Himself seen; I was feeling my mind so confused, that I almost could not understand the loss of Jesus, when I felt surrounded by many spirits – maybe they were Angels, I cannot tell with certainty. While I was in their midst, every now and then I would investigate - who knows, I might feel at least the breath of my beloved; but as much as I did, I found nothing that would reveal the presence of my loving Good. Then, all of a sudden, I felt a sweet breath coming from behind my shoulders, and immediately I cried out: ‘Jesus, my Lord!’
He answered: “Luisa, what do you want?”
‘Jesus, my beautiful One, come, do not remain behind my shoulders for I cannot see You. I have been waiting for You and investigating for the whole morning – who knows, I might see You amid these angelic spirits that surrounded my bed. But I could not, therefore I feel very tired, because I can find no rest without You. Come, for we will rest together.’ So Jesus placed Himself near me, and sustained my head.
Those spirits said: “Lord, how quickly she recognized You. Not even at your voice, but at your mere breath, immediately she called You.” Jesus answered them: “She knows Me, and I know her. She is so very dear to Me, like the pupil of my eyes.” And while He was saying this, I found myself in the eyes of Jesus. Who can say what I felt, being in those most pure eyes? It is impossible to manifest it with words. The very Angels remained astonished.

SPEAKER_01Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew. Daily Reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, may sixth, eighteen ninety nine, volume two. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, you reveal yourself in the most subtle and intimate ways. Grant us the grace to recognize you, even in the smallest movements of your presence. Purify our senses, that we may know you deeply and remain always close to you. Amen. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph three sixty four. Man, though made of body and soul, is a unity. Through his very bodily condition, he sums up in himself the elements of the material world. Through him they are thus brought to their highest perfection, and can raise their voice in praise freely given to the Creator. Before we enter into today's reading, we're reminded that even our senses, our hearing, our breath, our awareness, our pathways to encounter God. This prepares us to understand the delicate and intimate way Loisa recognizes Jesus. This morning, Jesus hardly made himself seen. I was feeling my mind so confused that I almost could not understand the loss of Jesus when I felt surrounded by many spirits. Maybe they were angels. I cannot tell with certainty. While I was in their midst, even now and then I would investigate, who knows? I might feel at least the breath of my beloved. But as much as I did, I found nothing that would reveal the presence of my loving good. Then all of a sudden, I felt a sweet breath coming from behind my shoulders, and immediately I cried out Jesus, my Lord He answered. Louisa, what do you want? Jesus, my beautiful one, come, do not remain behind my shoulders for I cannot see you. I've been waiting for you and investigating for the whole morning. Who knows I might see you amid these angelic spirits that surrounded my bed. But I could not. Therefore I feel very tired, because I can find no rest without you. Come, for we will rest together. So Jesus placed himself near me and sustained my head. Those spirits said, Lord, how quickly she recognized you not even at your voice, but at your mere breath. Immediately she called you. Jesus answered them. She knows me, and I know her. She is so very dear to me, like the pupil of my eyes. And while he was saying this, I found myself in the eyes of Jesus. Who can say what I felt being in those most pure eyes? It is impossible to manifest it with words. The very angels remained astonished. This passage reveals an extraordinary intimacy between the soul and Jesus. Louisa does not recognize him by sight or even by voice, but by his breath. This is the language of deep awareness. It's the kind of knowing that comes only through constant union. Jesus himself confirms it. She knows me, and I know her. This mutual knowledge is the fruit of love, of time spent together, of fidelity. In the divine will, this intimacy grows even deeper. The soul becomes so attuned to God that even the slightest movement, his breath, his presence, is immediately recognized. This challenges us. How attentive are we to God's presence in our lives? Do we require extraordinary signs? Or are we sensitive to the subtle whisper of his grace? Louisa searched among the angels, yet did not find him until she recognized his breath. This reminds us that God is often closer than we think, hidden in the simplest and most interior ways. And then the most beautiful image. Louisa finds herself in the eyes of Jesus. This speaks of complete union, seeing as he sees, being held within his gaze of love. Let us pray. O Jesus, teach me to recognize you in the smallest movements of grace. Sharpen my spiritual senses that I may know you not only in extraordinary moments, but in the quiet breath of your presence. Draw me into that intimacy where I know you and you know me. Let my soul become familiar with your voice, your touch, your breath. Remove distractions that keep me from perceiving you. Make me attentive, receptive, and faithful. May I rest in you and you in me until I live always within your gaze of love. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Let us remember that Jesus is closer than we realize. In the divine will we can come to know him so deeply that even his breath becomes recognizable. Let us seek that intimacy and remain attentive to his presence. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
