Luisa writes,

Continuing in my usual state, blessed Jesus came for a little and told me:  “My daughter, they say that the path of virtue is difficult.  False.  It is difficult for one who does not move, because knowing neither the graces nor the consolations she would receive from God, nor the help for her to move, it seems difficult to her; and without moving she feels all the weight of the journey.  But for one who moves, it is extremely easy, because the grace that inundates her fortifies her, the beauty of the virtues attracts her, the Divine Spouse of souls carries her cleaving to His arm, accompanying her along the journey.  And the soul, instead of feeling the weight, the difficulty of moving, wants to hasten her way in order to reach, more quickly, the end of the path and of her very center.”

Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew, Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, may fifteenth, nineteen oh five, volume six. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, draw us ever closer to you along the path of virtue. Remove from our hearts every fear, hesitation, and discouragement that keeps us from moving toward your divine will. Help us to trust in the grace you pour upon every soul who desires to follow you. May we walk with confidence, supported by your strength and carried by your love. Amen. Saint Matthew writes in his gospel Matthew chapter eleven verses twenty eight through thirty. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. The catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph eighteen ten. Human virtues acquired by education, by deliberate acts, and by a perseverance ever renewed in repeated efforts are purified and elevated by divine grace. With God's help, they forge character and give facility in the practice of the good. Jesus reminds Louisa that virtue becomes difficult only when the soul refuses to move toward God. Grace strengthens the soul that begins the journey, and divine love carries her forward along the way. Louisa writes. Continuing in my usual state, blessed Jesus came for a little and told me My daughter, they say that the path of virtue is difficult. False It is difficult for one who does not move, because knowing neither the graces nor the consolations she would receive from God, nor the help for her to move, it seems difficult to her, and without moving she feels all the weight of the journey. But for one who moves, it is extremely easy, because the grace that inundates her fortifies her. The beauty of the virtues attracts her. The divine spouse of souls carries her, cleaving to his arm, accompanying her along the journey. And the soul, instead of feeling the weight, the difficulty of moving, wants to hasten her way in order to reach more quickly, the end of the path and of her very center. How often the spiritual life appears difficult because we remain standing still? Jesus explains to Louisa that the problem is not the path itself, but our hesitation to begin moving toward him. Fear, uncertainty, discouragement, and attachment can make holiness seem impossible when viewed from a distance. But once the soul takes even a small step toward God, grace begins to act immediately. Divine help accompanies movement. Jesus says the soul becomes fortified by grace, attracted by the beauty of virtue, and even carried by the divine spouse himself. This is the secret of living in the divine will. God never asks us to walk alone. The soul who sincerely desires to live in his will receives supernatural assistance at every step. Virtue is no longer simply human effort, it becomes cooperation with divine grace. The enemy often tries to convince souls that holiness is unattainable. Yet Jesus says the opposite. Begin moving. Pray. Trust. Surrender your will to God one act at a time. Grace will do the rest. The divine will is not a crushing burden. It is the discovery of our true center, the place where the soul finally rests in God. Let us pray. Jesus, help us to move toward you without fear. When the path feels difficult, remind us that your grace accompanies every sincere step. Carry us in your arms when we grow weary, and draw us ever deeper into the beauty of your divine will. May we never remain still in discouragement, but continue forward with trust, confidence, and love. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Take one small step toward God today and trust that his grace will meet you there. The soul who begins to move toward the divine will will always find Jesus walking beside her. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
