"Your Faith Anew!"
Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.
Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.
David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.
In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.
In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:
“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”
Join us daily as we seek not only to understand our Faith—but to live it fully, joyfully, and in union with the Divine Will.

Luisa writes,
As I was still without my adorable Jesus, at the most, a few shadows – oh! how much bitterness it costs me, how many tears I have to shed! – this morning, after much waiting and searching, I found Him in my very bed, all afflicted, with the crown of thorns piercing His head. I removed it very gently from His head and I placed it on mine. Oh, how bad I saw myself before His presence! I did not have the strength to utter a single word. Having compassion for me, Jesus told me: “Be cheered, do not fear, try to fill your interior with Me, and to fatten it with all virtues, to the point of overflowing outside; and when you come to make this overflow, then will I take you to Heaven and all your privations will end.” After this, assuming an afflicted air, He added: “My daughter, pray, because three distinct days have been prepared, each far from the other, with storms, hail, lightnings and floods, which will cause great damage to men and to plants.” Having said this, He disappeared, leaving me a little more relieved in the state in which I find myself, but with a thought: ‘Who knows when I get to make this overflow? And if I never do it, will I perhaps have to be always far away from Him?’

SPEAKER_01Welcome. This is David Russell and your faith anew, daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, may eighteenth, nineteen hundred, volume three. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, in our moments of darkness and longing, teach us not to lose heart. As you invited Louisa to fill her interior with you and with every virtue, help us to allow your divine life to overflow from within us into every thought, word, and action. May our sufferings become united to your crown of thorns, and may our hearts remain faithful even when we feel deprived of your sensible presence. Amen. Saint James writes in his letter James chapter one verses two to four. Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect that you may be perfect and complete lacking in nothing. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph twenty fifteen. The way of perfection passes by way of the cross. There is no holiness without renunciation and spiritual battle. Spiritual progress entails the asces and mortification that gradually lead to living in the peace and joy of the Beatitudes. Jesus invites the soul not merely to endure suffering, but to allow every cross to enlarge the capacity of the heart for divine union. In the divine will, suffering becomes transformed into a path of overflowing grace, preparing the soul for heaven itself. Louisa writes As I was still without my adorable Jesus, at the most a few shadows, oh how much bitterness it costs me, how many tears I have to shed. This morning, after much waiting and searching, I found him in my very bed, all afflicted, with the crown of thorns piercing his head. I removed it very gently from his head, and I placed it on mine. Oh how bad I saw myself before his presence. I did not have the strength to utter a single word. Having compassion for me, Jesus told me Be cheered, do not fear. Try to fill your interior with me, and to fatten it with all virtues, to the point of overflowing outside. And when you come to make this overflow, then will I take you to heaven, and all your privations will end. After this, assuming an afflicted air, he added, My daughter, pray, because three distinct days have been prepared, each far from the other, with storms, hail, lightnings, and floods, which will cause great damage to men and to plants. Having said this, he disappeared, leaving me a little more relieved in the state in which I find myself, but with a thought Who knows when I get to make this overflow? And if I never do it, will I perhaps have to be always far away from him? This passage reveals an important truth about the spiritual life. Jesus desires to fill the soul so completely with himself that his life begins to overflow outwardly into every aspect of human living. Louisa encounters Jesus suffering beneath the crown of thorns, and in an act of love she places the crown upon herself. This is not merely symbolic suffering, it's participation. The soul who loves Jesus begins to desire union not only with his joys, but with his sorrow, his sacrifice, and his redeeming love for humanity. Jesus tells Louisa to fill your interior with me. This is the heart of living in the divine will. It's not simply performing external devotions while remaining inwardly distracted or divided. It's allowing Jesus to gradually occupy every corner of the soul, the memory, intellect, desires, fears, reactions, and intentions. Then Jesus speaks of overflowing. The divine life is never meant to remain hidden only within ourselves. As the soul becomes filled with Christ, virtue begins to spill outward naturally. Peace overflows into relationships. Patience overflows into trials. Charity overflows into encounters with others. Hope overflows even in suffering. Often we feel discouraged because we don't yet see perfection within ourselves. Louisa herself worries. What if I never make this overflow? Yet Jesus does not ask for instant perfection. He asks for fidelity, surrender, and perseverance. The overflowing comes gradually as the soul repeatedly returns to him in every circumstance. Even the warnings of storms and suffering remind us of the fragility of earthly life. The world changes rapidly. Human security passes away. But the soul filled with the divine will remains anchored in God. When the interior is filled with Jesus, external storms cannot destroy the peace he establishes within. Every act done in the divine will enlarges the soul's capacity for heaven. Every hidden sacrifice, every prayer offered in union with Jesus, every acceptance of his will prepares the soul for eternal union with him. Let us pray. Jesus, crown our thoughts with your own holy thoughts. Where pride remains within us, replace it with humility. Where fear remains, replace it with trust. Where impatience remains, replace it with peace. Lord, fill our interior with your divine presence until every part of our being belongs completely to you. Let our words overflow with kindness, our actions overflow with charity, and our hearts overflow with your divine will. When we feel abandoned or deprived of consolation, remind us that you are still near. Teach us to search for you faithfully, even in darkness, just as Louisa searched for you with tears and longing. Jesus, may every thorn we carry become united to your crown of thorns for the salvation of souls. Preserve us during the storms of life, and keep us secure within your most holy will. May your life grow within us until one day you bring us fully into the eternal kingdom prepared for those who love you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. The Lord is patiently preparing each soul for divine union. Continue inviting Jesus to fill every part of your interior life, and trust that His grace will overflow into the world around you. Until tomorrow, stay in His will, and your faith will be made anew.
