Welcome. This is David Russell and your faith anew. Daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, july fourth, eighteen ninety nine, volume two. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, quiet our restless hearts and draw us ever more deeply into your divine will. Grant us the peace that no trial can disturb, the humility to trust your providence, and the love to offer every thought, word, and action for your glory. May the Blessed Virgin Mary teach us to remain steadfast in every circumstance so that Christ may reign freely within us. Amen. In his letter to the Philippians, Saint Paul writes in chapter four verses six and seven. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your request known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph twenty eight forty nine. The vigilance of the heart is reminded of with insistence. The Holy Spirit constantly seeks to awaken us to keep watch. This petition takes on all its dramatic meaning in relation to the last temptation of our earthly battle. It asks for final perseverance. Lo, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is he who is awake. As we listen to today's passage from the Book of Heaven, may our hearts become ever more receptive to the peace Jesus desires to establish within us. Now, let us be attentive to today's entry. Louisa writes This morning Jesus renewed in me the pains of the crucifixion. Our Queen Mama was also present, and Jesus, speaking of her, said My kingdom was in the heart of my mother, and this, because her heart was never disturbed even slightly, so much so that in the immense sea of the passion she suffered immense pains, and her heart was pierced through by the sword of sorrow, but she did not receive the slightest breath of disturbance. Therefore, since my kingdom is a kingdom of peace, I was able to lay my kingdom within her and to reign freely without any obstacle. Jesus kept coming other times, and I, seeing myself all full of sins, said to him, My Lord Jesus, I feel I am all covered with wounds and with grave sins. Oh please, I beg you, have pity on this miserable one. And Jesus do not fear, for there are no grave sins. And besides, one must have horror for sin, but not become disturbed, because agitation, wherever it comes from, never does good to the soul. Then he added, My daughter, you are a victim, as I am. Let all your works shine with the same intentions as mine, pure and holy, so that finding my own image in you, I may pour the influence of my graces freely, and I may offer you, adorned in this way, a fragrant victim before divine justice. Today's passage reveals one of the defining characteristics of life in the divine will interior peace. Jesus points to his blessed mother as the perfect example. Although no human being ever suffered more deeply in union with Christ than Mary, her heart was never disturbed. She experienced unimaginable sorrow, yet she remained completely surrendered to the Father's will. This teaches us an important distinction. Suffering itself does not separate us from peace. Rather, it is resistance, fear, and agitation that rob us of the peace God wishes to give. The divine will does not remove every cross. Instead, it enables us to carry each cross while remaining anchored in God's presence. Jesus tells Louisa that his kingdom was able to reign within Mary's heart because nothing disturbed its perfect order. That invitation extends to us as well. Every time we choose trust, instead of anxiety, forgiveness, instead of resentment or surrender instead of control, we make more room for His kingdom to reign within us. Jesus also offers comforting guidance regarding our sins. He tells Louisa to have horror for sin, but to not become disturbed. Genuine repentance leads us toward God with confidence. Discouragement, on the other hand, often turns our attention inward and weakens our trust in His mercy. The enemy delights in agitation, because a troubled heart struggles to hear the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit. Finally, Jesus reminds Louisa that as his victim's soul, she is to let all her works reflect his own intentions, pure, holy, and united with his. This is also the essence of living in the divine will. We begin each day by inviting Jesus to perform his own acts within ours. Ordinary duties become extraordinary when they are united to his divine intentions. Today, whenever you notice worry, frustration, or interior unrest beginning to rise, pause for a moment. Turn your heart toward Jesus and simply pray. Let Jesus do. Those three words express profound confidence that He is already at work. When we surrender our will to His, peace returns. His kingdom expands within us, and our smallest acts acquire eternal value. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, grant me the peaceful heart of your blessed mother. Quiet every anxious thought and every impulse to control what belongs to you. Teach me to trust your providence in every circumstance and to welcome your divine will into every moment of my day. May all that I think, say, and do be united with your holy intentions, so that your kingdom may reign evermore fully within me. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today.
