Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.
Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.
David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.
In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.
In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:
“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

July 9, 1899 – Volume 2
Luisa writes,
This morning, Jesus wanted to renew in me the pains of the crucifixion. First He transported me outside of myself, up on a mountain, and then He asked me whether I wanted to be crucified. And I: ‘Yes, my Jesus, I yearn for nothing but the cross.’
As I was saying this, a huge cross appeared; He laid me upon it, and nailed me to it with His own hands. What atrocious pains I suffered in feeling my hands and feet being pierced through by those nails, and what is more, they did not have a point, and it was hard and very painful to make them penetrate; but with Jesus everything was tolerable. After He finished crucifying me, He told me: “My daughter, I make use of you in order to continue my Passion. Since my glorified body can no longer be capable of suffering, by coming into you, I make use of your body just as I used Mine during my mortal life, to be able to continue and to suffer my Passion, and therefore to be able to offer you as living victim of reparation and propitiation before Divine Justice.”
After this, Heaven seemed to open and a multitude of Saints came down, all armed with swords. A voice like thunder came out from within that multitude, saying: “We come to defend the Justice of God, and to take revenge on men, who have so much abused His Mercy!” Who can say what was happening on earth at this descent of the Saints? I am only able to say that some were fighting in one place, some in another; some were fleeing, and some were hiding. It seemed that all were in dismay.

SPEAKER_01Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew Daily Reflections Guiding You To Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, july ninth, eighteen ninety nine, volume two. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, unite us ever more closely to the passion of your Son. Give us the grace to embrace every cross you permit with trust, love, and abandonment. May our sufferings, united with those of Jesus, become instruments of reparation, mercy, and salvation for all souls. Above all, teach us to live every moment in your divine will. Amen. A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Galatians, chapter two verses nineteen and twenty. For through the law I died to the law, that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ, yet I live no longer I, but Christ lives in me. Insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me. The catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph twenty one hundred Outward sacrifice to be genuine must be the expression of spiritual sacrifice. The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit. The prophets of the old covenant often denounced sacrifices that were not from the heart or not coupled with love of neighbor. Jesus recalls the words of the prophet Hosea I desire mercy and not sacrifice. The only perfect sacrifice is the one that Christ offered on the cross as a total offering to the Father's love and for our salvation. By uniting ourselves with His sacrifice, we can make our lives a sacrifice to God. Jesus now invites us to contemplate how union with His passion becomes a participation in His saving work. It seemed that all were in dismay. Today's passage reveals one of the deepest mysteries of the Christian life. Jesus does not merely ask us to endure suffering, he invites us to unite it with his own passion. When Jesus tells Louisa that he continues his passion through souls willing to suffer with him, he is expressing a truth deeply rooted in Catholic teaching. Christ's sacrifice on Calvary is complete and infinitely sufficient for the redemption of the world. Yet in his love, he allows members of his mystical body to participate in that one sacrifice, so that his redemptive love may continue reaching souls throughout history. Living in the divine will gives this participation an even greater depth. It is not simply offering our pain to God, it is allowing Jesus Himself to live, pray, love, and even suffer within us. Our ordinary trials, misunderstandings, illness, disappointments, sacrifices, hidden acts of charity become his acts when we freely surrender them to his divine will. Notice that Louisa immediately says she longs only for the cross. This is not because suffering has value by itself, rather she has discovered that the cross is where love reaches its greatest expression. Love willingly accepts sacrifice when it knows it is united to the beloved. The second part of today's reading presents a sobering reminder. God's mercy is infinite, but humanity cannot presume upon it forever. Justice and mercy are never opposed in God. They are perfectly united. Divine justice ultimately seeks to restore order where sin has brought disorder. Even warnings and chastisements are expressions of God's desire to awaken souls before it's too late. For us today, the practical application is simple but profound. Instead of asking how can I escape this cross? We might begin asking Jesus, how do you wish to live this cross within me? That change of intention transforms suffering into love. It transforms resignation into participation. It transforms human endurance into a divine act. Every inconvenience becomes an opportunity to say, Jesus, I give you permission to continue your life in me. That's the heart of living in the divine will. We stop seeing our lives as our own projects and begin allowing Christ to continue his mission through every thought, word, and action. The saints remind us that holiness is not found in seeking extraordinary sufferings, but in accepting with extraordinary love whatever God permits. United with Jesus, even the smallest hidden sacrifice acquires eternal value. May we never fear the crosses God allows. Instead, may we recognize them as invitations to become more fully one with Christ, allowing His love to continue redeeming the world through willing souls. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, teach me to welcome every cross that you permit, not with fear, but with confidence in your love. Unite my heart to yours so completely that every joy, every sorrow, every sacrifice, and every ordinary moment may become your own act within me. Help me to live entirely in your divine will, allowing your passion, your mercy, and your love to continue reaching souls through my life. May my greatest desire always be to glorify the Father by letting you do in me whatever pleases him. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. May today's reflection encourage you to see every trial as an opportunity to draw closer to Christ, allowing his divine will to transform even the smallest sacrifice into an act of eternal love and reparation.
