Welcome, this is David Russell and your faith anew, daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, july twentieth, nineteen oh one, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, draw us ever more deeply into the safety of your divine will. When our hearts grow weary, remind us that your providence never abandons those who trust in you. Teach us to rest in your loving care with childlike confidence, to surrender every fear into your hands, and to become instruments of your peace for everyone we encounter today. May every thought, word and action reflect your goodness so that your kingdom may reign evermore fully a reading from the gospel according to Matthew Chapter twenty three verse thirty seven Jerusalem Jerusalem You who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you. How many times I yearned to gather your children together as a hen gathers her young under her wings, but you were unwilling. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph three five. Jesus asks for childlike abandonment to the providence of our heavenly Father who takes care of his children's smallest needs. Therefore, do not be anxious, saying What shall we eat or what shall we drink? Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all, but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. Let us now listen with attentive hearts to today's passage from the Book of Heaven. May these inspired words lead us into a deeper desire to live every moment in the divine will. Louisa writes As I was in my usual state, my adorable Jesus was not coming. Then, after struggling and almost losing the hope of seeing him again, all of a sudden he came and told me My daughter, your voice is sweet to me as the voice of the mother is sweet to the little bird. After she has left him to go in search of food with which to nourish him, as she comes back, what does the little bird do? On hearing her voice, he feels sweetness and makes feast, and after the mother has fed him, he huddles all up and hides under the maternal wing to warm himself, to be freed from the intemperaces of the air, and to take safe rest. Oh how dear and pleasing it is for the little bird this remaining under the maternal wing. So you are for me. You are the wing that warms me, shelters me, defends me, and allows me to take safe rest. Oh how dear and pleasing it is for me to remain under this wing. Having said this, he disappeared, and I remained all confused and full of shame, knowing myself so bad. But obedience wanted to increase my confusion, wanted me to write this. May the most holy will of God be always done. There are moments in every spiritual life when we long for reassurance. We desire to know that God is near, that He has not forgotten us, and that our daily efforts to love Him truly matter. Yet faith often grows strongest not when everything is obvious, but when we continue trusting despite uncertainty. Living in the divine will invites us to discover a deeper kind of security. It's not built upon changing emotions, favorable circumstances, or visible signs. Rather, it rests upon the unchanging love of God. When we place our will into His, we discover that our greatest protection is not found in controlling life, but in allowing Him to guide it. This changes how we approach each day. We begin our work with confidence because it belongs to Him. We meet difficulties without despair because He already knows the path ahead. We accept interruptions with greater peace because His providence is never interrupted. Even our weaknesses become opportunities for grace when we humbly place them into His hands. The divine will is not simply something we practice during prayer. It becomes the atmosphere in which we live. Every conversation, every responsibility, every hidden sacrifice becomes another opportunity to dwell within God's loving plan. Perhaps today you're carrying concerns about your family, your health, your future or the church. Instead of allowing those worries to consume your thoughts, quietly whisper Jesus, I give this to you. Then continue your duties faithfully. This is where the phrase let Jesus do becomes more than a beautiful expression, it becomes a way of life. We stop striving to carry burdens that belong to God and begin cooperating with the grace He continually offers. As we learn this holy surrender, we also become a refuge for others. Our calm spirit encourages the anxious. Our hope strengthens the discouraged. Our patience reflects Christ to those who are struggling. The more we live in God's will, the more his presence quietly radiates through us. Today, ask for the grace to remain interior united with Jesus in every circumstance. No matter what comes, remember that his love is constant, his care is perfect, and his divine will is always leading his children toward holiness. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, thank you for never ceasing to watch over your children. Teach me to trust your loving providence in every moment of my life. Help me to surrender my fears, my plans, and my desires into your divine will so that your peace may reign within me. May I become a witness of hope, bringing comfort wherever I go through the quiet confidence that comes from living united with you. Let every heartbeat proclaim my trust in your goodness, and may every act of this day give glory to the Father and hasten the coming of your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Amen. May your confidence grow stronger each day as you entrust every moment to the loving embrace of God's divine will, allowing Him to accomplish in you what only He can.
