Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, july twenty fifth, nineteen hundred, volume three. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, I enter into your divine will and place before you every joy, every disappointment, every season of clarity, and every moment when I struggle to sense your presence. Teach me to love you because you are worthy of all love, not because of what I feel. Form within me a faithful heart that remains steadfast in every circumstance. May my trust mature, my hope deepen, and my surrender become complete, so that your will may reign more perfectly in me each day. Through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen. A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Romans chapter eight verses thirty five to thirty nine What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or the sword? As it is written, for your sake we are being slain all the day. We are looked upon as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraphs sixteen forty two Christ is the source of this grace. Just as of old God encountered his people with a covenant of love and fidelity, so our Savior, the spouse of the Church, now encounters Christian spouses through the sacrament of matrimony. Christ dwells with them, gives them the strength to take up their crosses and so follow him, to rise again after they have fallen, to forgive one another, to bear one another's burdens, to be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ, and to love one another with supernatural, tender, and fruitful love. In the joys of their love and family life, he gives them here on earth a foretaste of the wedding feast of the Lamb. As we prepare to hear today's passage from the Book of Heaven, let us open our hearts to discover that God's love remains constant even when our emotions rise and fall. Louisa writes This morning my adorable Jesus came and made me see a machine in which it seemed that many human members were being crushed, as well as something like two signs of chastisements in the air chastisements that struck terror. Who can say the consternation of my heart in seeing all this? But bless Jesus, seeing me so embittered, told me My daughter, let us move what so much afflicts us away from us for a little while, and let us cheer each other by playing together a little bit. Who can say what passed between Jesus and me in this game? The finesses of love, the stratagems, the kisses and the caresses that we gave each other. However, my beloved Jesus surpassed me because, being very weak, I would faint, so much so that unable to contain within myself what he was giving me, I said My beloved, enough, enough for I can take no more. I faint. My poor heart is not so large as to be capable of receiving so much. So enough for now. Then, wanting to scold me because of my speaking of the other day, sweetly he said to me Let me hear your complaints. Tell me, tell me, am I cruel? Has my love changed into cruelty for you? And I, all blushing, said No, Lord, you are not cruel when you come, but when you do not come, then I will say that you are cruel. Smiling at my words, he added, You still keep saying that I am cruel when I do not come. No no, there can be no cruelty at all in me. Everything is love, and know that if it is as you say, my very being cruel is greater love. One of the greatest temptations in the spiritual life is to measure God's love by our feelings. When prayer is peaceful, we assume He is near. When our hearts seem dry or distracted, we begin to wonder whether something has changed. Yet God does not love according to our emotions. His love is eternal, perfect, and unwavering. Living in the divine will teaches us to move beyond a faith that depends upon consolation. True fidelity is choosing God because He is God. It is remaining faithful in ordinary duties, hidden sacrifices, and quiet perseverance. These are often the very places where love becomes most authentic. A mature disciple learns that every circumstance can become an opportunity to say Father, I choose your will. Whether the day is filled with blessings or unexpected trials, the invitation remains the same. Let Jesus do. Allow him to accomplish in you what you could never achieve by your own strength. There will be moments when you clearly recognize his guidance, and others when you simply walk by faith. Both are valuable. The divine will is not limited by what we perceive. God continues working even when his action is hidden from our senses. This realization brings freedom. We no longer chase extraordinary experiences. Instead we seek extraordinary fidelity in ordinary moments, a kind word, a patient response, a hidden prayer, an act of forgiveness, or a quiet acceptance of God's timing all become opportunities for his divine life to flow through us. When we entrust ourselves completely to him, our confidence no longer rests on changing circumstances, but on his unchanging goodness. The soul begins to live with a peaceful certainty. Whatever today brings, my Father is present. His will is perfect, and his grace is sufficient. That confidence is itself a gift. It transforms fear into hope, anxiety into peace, and uncertainty into joyful abandonment. As we continue striving to live in the divine will, may we learn to love God with steadfast hearts that remain faithful in every season, knowing that His love never fails. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, I place my heart into your divine will. When I rejoice, keep me humble. When I struggle, keep me trusting. When I cannot see your hand, help me believe in your faithful love. Teach me to choose your will above my own desires and to live each moment with peaceful confidence. May every thought, word, action, and sacrifice become an act of love offered with you, in you and through you, for the glory of the Father and for the coming of the kingdom of the divine will on earth as it is in heaven. May each new day strengthen your confidence that God's love is constant, his will is always good, and every faithful yes draws us closer to the life He created you to live.
