Welcome. This is David Russell and your faith anew daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, august first, eighteen ninety nine, volume two. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, you created us to reflect your goodness and to become living witnesses of your love. Purify our hearts from everything that obscures your presence. Teach us to choose what is true, honorable, and holy in every thought, word, and action. May your divine will reshape our lives so completely that others encounter your peace through us. Let every sacrifice we embrace become an offering of love for the salvation of souls and for the coming of your kingdom on earth, as it is in heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians chapter six verses nineteen and twenty. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own, for you have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph twenty five twenty Baptism confers on its recipient the grace of purification from all sins. But the baptized must continue to struggle against concupicence of the flesh and disordered desires. With God's grace he will prevail. By the virtue and gift of chastity, for chastity lets us love with upright and undivided heart, by purity of intention, which consists in seeking the true end of man. With simplicity of vision, the baptized person seeks to find and to fulfill God's will in everything. As we listen, let us quiet every distraction and allow God to reveal what He desires to accomplish in us today. Louisa writes This morning my most gentle Jesus, carrying me outside of myself, made me see the corruption into which mankind has decayed. It is horrifying to think about it. While I was in the midst of these people, almost crying, Jesus was saying O man, how you have disfigured, deformed, disenobled yourself. O man, I made you so that you might be my living temple, but you have made of yourself the dwelling of the devil. Look, even the plants, by being covered with leaves, flowers and fruits, teach you honesty, and the modesty you must have with your body. But you, having lost any modesty, and even the natural reserve you should have, have become worse than the animals, so much so that I have nothing else to which to compare you. You were my image, but now I no longer recognize you. Even more, I am so horrified at your impurities that the mere sight of you nauseates me, and you yourself force me to flee from you. While Jesus was saying this, I felt tortured with the pain of seeing my beloved Jesus so embittered. So I said to him, Lord, you are right that you find nothing good in man any more, and that he has reached such blindness as to no longer be able even to keep to the laws of nature. So if you want to look at man, you will do nothing but send chastisements. Therefore I pray you to keep your gaze on your mercy, and in this way everything will be remedied. As I was saying this, Jesus told me, Daughter, give me a refreshment for my pains. In the act of saying this, he removed the crown of thorns, which seemed to be sunken into his adorable head, and he drove it into mine. I felt most bitter pains, but I was content that Jesus was being refreshed. After this he told me, Daughter, I greatly love pure souls, and just as I am forced to flee from the impure, I am drawn by the pure, as by a magnet, to dwell with them. To pure souls I gladly lend my mouth to let them speak with my own tongue. Therefore they have to make no effort to convert souls. With these souls, I delight not only in continuing my passion within them, and so continuing redemption, but what is more, I greatly delight in glorifying my own virtues in them. The saints remind us that holiness is never merely about avoiding sin. It's about becoming increasingly available to God. A heart that belongs completely to Him becomes a place where His grace is welcomed, His love is reflected, and His peace is shared with others. Living in the divine will invites us beyond external behavior into an interior transformation. We often focus on changing our circumstances, but God first desires to change us. He patiently cleanses our motives, purifies our desires, and teaches us to love what He loves. This lifelong work is accomplished little by little whenever we surrender another corner of our hearts to him. Purity is much more than one virtue among many. It's an undivided heart. It's the freedom to love without selfishness, to serve without seeking recognition, and to see others through the eyes of Christ. The more our hearts are emptied of pride, resentment, impurity, and self interest, the more room there is for God's own life to flourish within us. This is why our daily choices matter. Every act of forgiveness, every rejection of temptation, every hidden sacrifice. Every moment we guard our thoughts, and every quiet act of charity prepares the soul for a deeper union with God. None of these actions are insignificant when they are united with His divine will. Sometimes we become discouraged because we still notice our weaknesses. Yet discouragement itself can become another obstacle if it keeps our eyes fixed on ourselves instead of on God's mercy. The Lord is never surprised by our frailty. He simply asks us to keep returning to Him with confidence. This is where the simple phrase let Jesus do becomes so powerful. Rather than relying solely on our own strength, we invite Him to accomplish within us what we cannot accomplish alone. He can purify what we cannot purify. He can heal what we cannot heal. He can restore what we've damaged through our own limitations. As we live each day in the divine will, we begin to discover that holiness is not manufactured by human effort. It is received through continual surrender. We cooperate with grace, but God is the one who transforms the soul. May every encounter today become an opportunity to reflect His goodness. May our words encourage, our actions give hope, and our lives quietly point others toward Christ. When our hearts belong entirely to Him, His presence naturally reaches those around us, often without a single word being spoken. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, I place my heart into your divine will. Remove everything that prevents me from belonging completely to you. Purify my thoughts, my intentions, my desires, and my actions so that all may reflect your holiness. Teach me to seek what is pleasing to the Father in every circumstance. May every beat of my heart glorify the Father, bring grace to souls, and hasten the coming of your kingdom. Amen.
