Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Luisa writes,

As I was in my usual state, I was all afflicted and almost dazed because of the usual privations. Then He came, just in passing, and told me: “My daughter, that which I want you to take to heart is constancy in good, both internal and external, because the repetition of the act of loving Me, of many interior acts and of constant good, makes Divine Life grow ever more in the soul – but with such energy, that she can be compared to a child who, growing in good air and with healthy foods, keeps growing well, in full health, until he reaches his proper stature, without needing either doctors or medicines. Even more, he is so robust and strong, that he relieves and helps others.

On the other hand, one who is not constant grows like a child who is not always fed with healthy foods and lives in putrid air. He grows sickly, and since his members do not have the strength to develop and grow due to lack of good nourishment, they develop with defects; and so a tumor forms in one place, an abscess in another. He walks with a limp, he speaks with difficulty; one can say that he is a poor cripple. Though one can see good members mixed in, those with defects are more; and even though he consults doctors and takes medicines, they do him little or no good, because his blood is infected by the putrid air, and his members are weak and defective from malnutrition. So, he will be a man, but he will not reach a proper stature, and will always need help, without being able to help others. Such is the inconstant soul. With inconstancy in good, it is as if the soul nourished herself with foods which are not good; and by applying herself to other things which are not God, it is as if she breathed putrid air. So, Divine Life grows with difficulty and poorly, because It lacks the strength and the vigor of constancy.”

Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew, Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, august twenty sixth, nineteen oh eight, volume eight. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, draw my heart quietly toward you. Free me from the desire to measure my spiritual life by feelings, visible results, or moments of enthusiasm. Give me the grace to remain with you in the hidden choices of this day. May everything I think, say, and do become an offering of love, surrendered to the Father in union with you. Teach me to desire holiness not for what it gives me, but because I desire you. Amen. A reading from the letter to the Hebrews, chapter ten verses thirty five to thirty six. Therefore, do not throw away your confidence. It will have great recompense. You need endurance to do the will of God and receive what He has promised. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph eighteen eighteen. The virtue of hope responds to the aspiration to happiness which God has placed in the heart of every man. It takes up the hopes that inspire men's activities and purifies them so as to order them to the kingdom of heaven. It keeps man from discouragement. It sustains him during times of abandonment. It opens up his heart in expectation of eternal beatitude. Buoyed up by hope, he is preserved from selfishness and led to the happiness that flows from charity. There is a quiet grace waiting in today's reading for anyone who has ever wondered whether the small things offered to God really matter. So divine life grows with difficulty and poorly, because it lacks the strength and the vigor of constancy. Some of the most important moments in the spiritual life are remarkably ordinary. You wake up and pray when prayer feels dry. You forgive someone without receiving an apology. You resist a temptation nobody else knows about. You return to God after realizing that your thoughts have wandered far from him. You perform an unnoticed duty with love. Nothing dramatic happens. And perhaps that is precisely why these moments are so precious. We can easily imagine holiness as a succession of extraordinary encounters with God, but much of Christian life is simply remaining faithful between those encounters. Hebrews speaks of endurance because faith must eventually pass from inspiration into perseverance. The heart that belongs to Christ learns to continue loving him even when consolation disappears. This reveals something beautiful about God's way of forming us. He does not merely give us isolated moments of grace, he is shaping a person capable of communion with him. Think about the apostles. Peter's great declaration of faith at Caesarea Philippi was important. So was his encounter with the risen Christ beside the Sea of Galilee. But between those moments came countless miles walked behind Jesus, meals shared, questions asked, misunderstandings corrected, failures forgiven, and another morning of following him. That is discipleship. And it is encouraging because most of our lives are lived in precisely that territory. Perhaps you've been asking God for a deeper prayer life. Do not underestimate today's prayer. Perhaps you want greater charity. Do not despise today's opportunity to be patient. Perhaps you desire to live more fully in the divine will. Then do not wait for some extraordinary spiritual experience before beginning. Give Jesus the next ordinary moment. Living in God's will is not an escape from ordinary life. It allows ordinary life to become the place where love continually says yes to God. Christian hope, which the catechism places before us today, keeps that yes from becoming grim determination. We persevere because someone has promised to bring us home. Jesus is not standing at the end of the road merely waiting to see whether we make it. He walks with us. So when you become discouraged by how slowly you seem to be changing, look toward Christ rather than inward at your progress. Then give him one more yes. Not tomorrow's this one. Let us pray. Jesus, I place this day before you without demanding that it be extraordinary. Receive the hidden choices, the unfinished work, the interruptions, the duties and the moments when loving you requires perseverance. When I grow weary, become my strength. When enthusiasm fades, deepen my faith. When I begin measuring myself, turn my eyes back toward you. I surrender my will to you and ask that your divine will reign within me. Let my fidelity be sustained by your fidelity, my love purified within your love, and every ordinary moment become a place where I remain with you. Keep me close, Jesus. I do not need to see how far I have traveled. I only need the grace to take the next step with you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
