Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

This morning, after I struggled very much, I saw Our Lord crucified. I was kissing the wounds of His hands, and repairing and praying that He would sanctify, perfect, purify all human works for the sake of what He suffered in His most holy hands; and blessed Jesus told me: “My daughter, the works which most exacerbate my hands, and which most embitter and enlarge my wounds, are the good works done without attention. In fact, lack of attention takes life away from the good work, and things which have no life are always near to rotting; therefore they nauseate Me, and for the human eye a good work done without attention is a greater scandal than sin itself. In fact, it is known that sin is darkness, and it is no wonder that darkness gives no life; but the good work which is light and gives darkness offends the human eye so much, that it is no longer able to find light, and therefore it finds an obstacle on the path of good.”

Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew, Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, september sixth, nineteen oh five, volume six. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Jesus, draw my heart into your presence. Free me from the haste that scatters my thoughts and from the habit of passing through holy things without truly being present to you. Give me a recollected spirit, a generous heart, and the grace to receive this moment as a gift from the Father. May everything within me become available to you, so that what I offer may be offered with love. Amen. A reading from the Book of Sirac, chapter thirty two, verses nineteen to twenty four. Do nothing without deliberation. Then once you have acted, have no regrets. Do not go on a way set with snares, and do not stumble on the same thing twice. Do not trust the road because of bandits. Be careful on your paths. Whatever you do, be on your guard, for whoever does so keeps the commandments. Whoever keeps the law preserves himself, and whoever trusts in the Lord shall not be put to shame. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph two seven Through His Word God speaks to man. By words, mental or vocal, our prayer takes flesh. Yet it is most important that the heart should be present to him to whom we are speaking in prayer. Whether or not our prayer is heard depends not on the number of words, but on the fervor of our souls. There is a quiet question waiting for us in today's reading. What does Jesus desire to find within us when we offer him the ordinary actions of our day? Louisa writes This morning, after I struggled very much, I saw our Lord crucified. There is a difference between doing something for someone and being present to the person while we do it. We know this from ordinary life. Someone can sit across the table from us while thinking about something else. Someone can say the right words while scarcely noticing the person hearing them. And sometimes we ourselves discover that we've moved through an entire conversation, meal, prayer, or task without really being there. The Christian life can suffer from the same divided heart. We may say our prayers, attend mass, perform acts of charity, fulfill our responsibilities, and do many genuinely good things. Yet Jesus desires something more intimate than the completion of religious duties. He desires us. That changes the meaning of attention. Christian attentiveness is not nervous concentration. It is not trying to perform every action perfectly. It is the loving awareness that my life is being lived before God and can be given to him. The catechism teaches that the ordinary works of the Christian, when accomplished in the Spirit, can become spiritual offerings to God. Think of the dignity hidden in that teaching preparing breakfast, driving to work, answering an email, caring for someone who needs us, enduring an inconvenience, cleaning a room, praying a rosary. None of these moments need to remain merely ordinary. They can become places of communion. This is especially beautiful when we consider life in the divine will. We're not trying to manufacture something impressive for God. We are learning to let Jesus enter the small actions already entrusted to us. We can turn toward him interiorly and say, Jesus, be with me in this. I give you this moment. Let me do it with you and for the Father. Perhaps that is one of the simplest forms of holiness to stop living before God as though he were somewhere else. You are here, Lord, and I am yours. Let us pray. Jesus, you are here. Before I accomplish anything else today, I want to recognize your presence. Receive my mind when it becomes distracted, my heart when it becomes hurried, and my actions when they become mechanical. Gently gather me back to yourself. Teach me to live each moment with you. In your divine will, I offer you my work, my prayer, my conversations, my responsibilities, my interruptions, and the quiet duties no one else will ever notice. Holy Spirit, make me attentive to the Father. Let love awaken within the smallest things I do. Jesus, I do not want merely to accomplish good things for you. I want to belong to you while I am doing them. Take this day, live it with me, live it in me, and through everything you permit or ask of me, draw my heart more deeply into your own. May the Father's will become the home of every thought, word, and action of my life. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
