Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

I was concerned because I had read in a book that the reason for so many frustrated vocations is the lack of incessant sorrow for sin; and since I do not think about this, but I only think of blessed Jesus and of how to have Him come, and I occupy myself with nothing else, I thought to myself of what a bad state I was in. Then, as I was in my usual state, blessed Jesus told me: “My daughter, attention on not committing sin makes up for the sorrow; and even if one were sorry, but in spite of this he committed sins, his sorrow would be vain and fruitless. On the other hand, a continuous attention on not committing sins not only takes the place of sorrow, but pushes grace continuously to help the soul in a special way not to fall into sin, and it maintains the soul always purged. Therefore, continue to be attentive on not offending Me even slightly, for this will make up for all the rest.”

Welcome. This is David Russell and your faith anew, daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, september seventh, nineteen oh four, volume six. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, draw my heart close to yours. Give me a love that is awake to your presence and sensitive to your voice. Purify my desires, guard my choices, and teach me to recognize what leads toward you and what quietly leads me away. May your grace shape even the smallest movements of my heart, so that today I may belong more completely to you, and desire nothing apart from your holy will. Amen. A reading from the Book of Sirac, chapter twenty one, verses one and two My child, if you have sinned, do so no more, and for your past sins pray to be forgiven. Flee from sin as from a serpent that will bite you if you go near it. Its teeth, lion's teeth, destroying human lives. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph eighteen oh six Prudence is the virtue that disposes practical reason to discern our true good in every circumstance and to choose the right means of achieving it. The prudent man looks where he is going. Keep sane and sober for your prayers. Prudence is right reason in action, writes Saint Thomas Aquinas, following Aristotle. It is not to be confused with timidity or fear, nor with duplicity or dissimulation. It is called the charioteer of the virtues. Now let us listen with a heart ready to discover how deeply love for Christ can shape even the smallest choices of our lives. It happens in the moment before the word is spoken, in the thought we refuse to entertain, in the temptation we quietly turn away from, in the decision to remain charitable when irritation would be easier, in the interior movement by which the soul says almost without words Jesus, I choose you. We sometimes imagine repentance only as looking backward. We remember our failures, confess our sins, and ask for mercy. This is essential to the Christian life. The sacrament of reconciliation is one of Christ's great gifts to his church. But grace also teaches us to look forward. The Christian life is not meant to become an endless examination of yesterday. Christ forgives us so that we can walk with him today. This is where prudence becomes beautiful. The catechism calls prudence the virtue that helps us recognize our true good and choose the right means of attaining it. Christian prudence is not anxiety. It is not constantly wondering whether we've done something wrong, and it certainly is not scrupulosity. It is love being attentive. Think of two people who deeply love one another. Over time, each begins to recognize what delights the other and what causes pain. That attentiveness is not burdensome when it springs from love. The beloved matters, and therefore the smallest things begin to matter. Something similar happens in our relationship with Jesus. As friendship with Christ deepens, the question gradually changes. We begin less often with how much can I get away with? Or simply is this technically sinful? Another question rises from the heart. Jesus, what would please you? This is a very different way to live. And it brings us close to the mystery of living in the divine will. We are inviting Jesus into the actual movement of our day, our thoughts, words, reactions, decisions, work, relationships, and hidden sacrifices. We want His will not merely as a command we obey, but as the life in which our own choices are surrendered and transformed. We will still have weaknesses. We will still need mercy. When we fall, Christ does not ask us to remain on the ground analyzing the fall. He asks us to receive His forgiveness, take His hand, and continue with Him. Perhaps holiness is much closer than we sometimes imagine. Jesus is present in this moment. And this moment contains another opportunity to love him. Let us pray. Jesus, I adore you and place myself before you as I am. Thank you for your mercy that forgives me and your grace that never ceases to call me forward. Give me a peaceful and watchful heart. When temptation comes, let me recognize your presence before I become absorbed in the temptation. When I must make a choice, give me the wisdom to choose what leads toward you. When I fail, lead me quickly back into your merciful arms. Jesus, I surrender my will to you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
