Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Luisa writes,

This morning I found myself outside of myself and I saw the many evils and most enormous sins which are being committed – also against the Church and the Holy Father. Then, as I returned inside myself, my adorable Jesus came and told me: “What do you say about the world?” Not knowing what this question was driving at, impressed as I was by the things I had seen, I said: ‘Blessed Lord, who can tell You the perversity, the hardness, the ugliness of the world? I have no words to tell You how cattivo [bad] it is!’ And He, taking the occasion from my very words, added: “Have you seen how perverted it is? You yourself said it. There is no way to make it surrender; after I have almost taken bread away from it, it remains in the same stubbornness – and even worse; and for now it goes on procuring it by thefts and robberies, doing harm to one’s neighbor. Therefore it is necessary that I touch its flesh, otherwise it will become even more perverted.”

Who can say how speechless I remained at this speaking of Jesus; it seems to me that I myself have been the occasion of making Him become indignant against the world – instead of excusing it, I painted it black. I did as much as I could to excuse it afterwards, but He did not pay attention to me – the evil was already done. Ah, Lord, forgive me for this lack of charity, and use mercy!

Welcome. This is David Russell and your faith anew daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, september tenth, nineteen hundred, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Jesus, give me a heart that remains close to yours when I encounter the wounds of the world. Guard me from indifference, but also from despair. Teach me to see every person beneath the weight of sin as someone you still desire, someone for whom you shed your blood. Let your love shape my thoughts, my words and my prayers, so that I may desire what you desire and love as you love. Amen. A reading from the Book of Habakkuk, chapter three, verse two O Lord, I have heard your renown and am in awe, O Lord, of your work. In the course of years revive it. In the course of years make yourself known. In your wrath, remember compassion. The catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph eighteen forty eight. As Saint Paul affirms, where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. But to do its work grace must uncover sin so as to convert our hearts and bestow on us righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Like a physician who probes the wound before treating it, God, by His Word and by His Spirit, casts a living light on sin. Conversion requires convincing of sin. It includes the interior judgment of conscience, and this, being a proof of the action of the Spirit of truth in man's inmost being, becomes at the same time the start of a new grant of grace and love. Receive the Holy Spirit. Thus in this convincing concerning sin, we discover a double gift the gift of the truth of conscience and the gift of the certainty of redemption. The Spirit of Truth is the consoler. Before today's reading, let's ask for the grace to look upon a wounded world with the heart of Christ. There is a temptation that can come to faithful Christians when the world appears to be moving farther from God. We begin by grieving over sin, but almost without noticing. Grief can become disgust, and disgust can become condemnation. Yet Jesus never teaches us to be comfortable with evil. He teaches us something far more difficult to recognize evil clearly without ceasing to love the person trapped within it. Consider Christ upon the cross. He doesn't pretend that humanity is innocent. Calvary itself reveals the terrible seriousness of sin. And yet, from that very cross, Jesus does not withdraw his love, he pours it out. That is the mystery of divine mercy. Mercy does not call darkness light. Mercy enters in the darkness, carrying the possibility of redemption. The catechism teaches that recognizing sin is necessary for receiving God's mercy. But recognition is not the destination. The destination is conversion, reconciliation, and restored communion with God. This changes the way we look at the world. When we hear of violence, corruption, contempt for human dignity, attacks upon the church, broken families, or people openly rejecting God. The Christian response cannot simply be look how terrible everything has become. A soul united to Jesus learns another response. Lord, how can I love you here? Perhaps by offering an act of reparation, perhaps by praying for someone who has forgotten God, perhaps by refusing to speak contemptuously about a person whose actions we oppose. Perhaps by asking Jesus to place his own desire for that person's salvation within us. This is especially beautiful when lived in the divine will. Instead of allowing the sins of the world to make our hearts smaller, we can allow Jesus to enlarge them. We can enter His will and offer our prayer for every soul, for those who love Him, those who ignore Him, those who oppose Him, and those who do not yet know that they are searching for Him. The saints understood this. Holiness does not produce contempt for sinners. The closer a soul draws to Christ, the more urgently it desires their salvation. So when the darkness of the world troubles you, don't give the darkness your heart. Give your heart to Jesus. Then let him decide how large it can become. Let us pray. Jesus, merciful Savior, I adore you. When I see sin, give me truth without harshness, courage without anger, and sorrow without despair. Place within me your thirst for souls. In your divine will, I offer you my thoughts, my prayers, my sacrifices in every act of this day for those who are far from you. Go where I cannot go. Reach those I cannot reach. Love through me those whom I find difficult to love. When I'm tempted to condemn, remind me of your cross. When I'm tempted to despair, remind me of your resurrection. And when the wounds of the world seem overwhelming, draw my eyes back to you. Jesus, let your mercy have the final word in me. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
