Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

As I was in my usual state, after I struggled very much He made Himself seen clasped to me, holding my heart in His hands; and fixing on me, He told me: “My daughter, when a soul has given Me her will, she is no longer free to do what she pleases, otherwise it would not be a true donation. On the other hand, true donation is to keep one’s will sacrificed continuously to the One to whom it had already been given; and this is a martyrdom of continuous attention that the soul makes for God. What would you say of a martyr who today offers himself to suffer any kind of pain, and tomorrow draws back? You would say that he did not have true disposition for martyrdom, and that one day or another he will end up denying his faith. So I say to the soul who does not let Me do what I please with her will, but now gives it to Me, and now draws it back: ‘Daughter, you are not disposed to sacrifice and martyr yourself for Me, because true martyrdom consists in continuity. You may call yourself resigned, conformed, but not a martyr; and one day or another you may end up withdrawing from Me, reducing everything to a child’s game.’ Therefore, be attentive, and leave Me full freedom to do with you as I best please.”

Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew, Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Luisa Picaretta, september thirteenth, nineteen oh four, volume six. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Jesus, draw my heart close to yours. Quiet within me everything that resists your grace. I don't want merely to know your ways. I want to belong to you. Teach me the freedom of trusting you without reserve, and let your love shape every choice I make today. Amen. A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Romans, chapter twelve, verses one and two. I urge you, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship. Do not conform yourselves to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph twenty thirteen. All Christians in any state or walk of life are called to the fullness of Christian life and to the perfection of charity. All are called to holiness. Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect. In order to reach this perfection, the faithful should use the strength dealt out to them by Christ's gift, so that doing the will of the Father in everything, they may wholeheartedly devote themselves to the glory of God and to the service of their neighbor. Thus, the holiness of the people of God will grow in fruitful abundance, as is clearly shown in the history of the church through the lives of so many saints. There are moments when Christ asks us to discover how deeply our yes to him can enter into the ordinary fabric of life. Therefore, be attentive and leave me full freedom to do with you as I best please. There is a difference between giving Jesus something and giving ourselves to Jesus. We understand the first rather easily. We give him time in prayer. We give something to the poor. We offer a sacrifice. We place an intention before him at mass. These are beautiful acts of love. But Saint Paul goes further. He asks Christians to offer their very selves to God. That changes the question. Christian surrender is not simply Lord, what can I do for you? It becomes Lord, what do you desire to do in me? And that can be much harder. We may sincerely love Jesus while still keeping certain rooms of our lives carefully arranged according to our plans. We want his presence, but we also want control over the outcome. We trust him provided the road remains recognizable. Yet holiness gradually teaches us another kind of freedom. The catechism reminds us in paragraph twenty thirteen that every Christian is called to the fullness of Christian life and to the perfection of charity. Holiness is not reserved for a few extraordinary souls. It is the flowering of our baptismal life. And that flowering occurs as Christ becomes more and more the center from which we live. This is where living in the divine will becomes deeply personal. It is possible to say, Jesus, I give you my will during prayer, and then spend the rest of the day quietly taking everything back into our own hands. Not through deliberate rebellion, perhaps, but through anxiety, impatience, fear, preference, or the need to control. So perhaps the most important surrender is not yesterday's surrender, it is today's. And sometimes it's this hours. The beautiful thing is that Jesus does not ask us to manufacture heroic strength. Grace is already at work. He asks us to remain available to him. When circumstances change unexpectedly, Jesus, I am yours. When another person interrupts our plans, Jesus, love through me. When we cannot see what comes next. Jesus, I trust you. When obedience costs something. Little by little, surrender ceases to be merely something we say. It becomes the place from which we live. And then an extraordinary freedom begins to appear. We no longer have to hold the universe together. We belong to Christ. And Christ is enough. Let us pray. Jesus, I adore you because your love is worthy of my entire life. Take what I am, what I desire, what I fear, what I understand, and what remains hidden from me. When I am tempted to grasp what I had already placed before you, gently draw me back to your heart. Give me the grace to live this day in your divine will, not anxiously watching myself, but peacefully watching you. In every circumstance, let my soul recognize your presence. In every decision, give me light. In every difficulty, give me confidence. In every act of love, live your life more fully in me. Jesus, I belong to you. May your will find in me an open heart today and always. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
