Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Luisa writes,

This morning my adorable Jesus came all glorious, with His wounds more refulgent than suns, and with a cross in His hand. In the meantime I also saw a wheel with four sections of it leaning out, while it seemed that another section shunned the light and remained in the dark. In this darkening the people remained as though abandoned by God, and bloody wars would happen against the Church and against themselves. Ah, it seemed that the things said by blessed Jesus in the past are approaching at a fast pace! Now, on seeing all this, moved to compassion, Our Lord drew near the dark part, and He cast the cross He had in His hand upon it, saying with sonorous voice: “Glory to the cross!” And it seemed that that cross would call back the light, and the peoples, stirring themselves, would implore help and aid. Jesus repeated: “All the glory and triumph will be of the cross, otherwise the remedies will make the very evils worse. Therefore, the cross, the cross!” Who can say how afflicted I was left, and concerned for what might happen?

Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew, Daily Reflections Guiding You To Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, september fifteenth, nineteen oh one, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, quiet within us every fear that keeps us from trusting you. Draw our hearts toward you, and give us the grace to recognize your presence even when the world around us seems uncertain. May we desire only what gives glory to the Father, and may your holy will find in us a willing place to reign. Amen. A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians, chapter one verses eighteen through twenty five. The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the learning of the learned I will set aside. Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith. For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are called Jews and Greeks alike Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. The catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph six hundred seventeen The Council of Trent emphasizes the unique character of Christ's sacrifice as the source of eternal salvation, and teaches that his most holy passion on the wood of the cross merited justification for us. And the church venerates his cross as it sings Hail, O Cross, our only hope. When human wisdom reaches its limits, today's reading invites us to look more deeply at the mystery through which Christ has chosen to save the world. Who can say how afflicted I was left and concerned for what might happen? There are moments when Christianity seems almost unreasonable to the world. We believe that God conquers by giving himself away. We believe that the innocent Christ saves sinners by suffering for them. We believe that death itself was defeated when Jesus willingly entered it. At the center of our faith stands the cross. Saint Paul understood how strange this sounded. Some wanted impressive signs of divine power. Others wanted a philosophy that satisfied human intelligence. Paul gave them neither. He proclaimed Jesus Christ crucified. And that remains the great challenge of Christian faith. When something goes wrong, our instinct is often to ask, how can I fix this? There is nothing wrong with prudence. God gave us intelligence, and He expects us to use it. But eventually every disciple discovers situations that cannot be solved by intelligence alone. A relationship cannot always be repaired by the perfect words. Suffering cannot always be explained. The future cannot always be controlled. Even our own weakness can resist our best efforts. And there, Christ offers us something greater than an explanation. He offers himself. The cross reveals what divine power actually looks like. Jesus does not save us from a distance. He enters the deepest consequences of sin and carries our humanity through them into resurrection. That changes how we face our own cross. Living in the divine will does not mean that we become passive before suffering or stop seeking what is good. It means that beneath everything we do, there is a deeper surrender. Jesus, I belong to you. I trust you here. Accomplish in me what I cannot accomplish myself. Perhaps that is one of the hardest acts of faith, allowing Jesus to be Savior instead of continually trying to save ourselves. The cross becomes the place where our will finally opens its hands. And when we place into those hands our fear, our plans, our unanswered questions, even our desire to control the outcome, something beautiful happens. We discover that surrender is not defeat. In Christ, surrender becomes the doorway through which his victory enters us. So today, whatever you are carrying, do not stare endlessly at the problem. Look at Jesus. The one who gave himself for you has not stopped loving you, has not stopped acting, and has not lost the victory. Let us pray. Jesus crucified, I adore you. When I understand your ways, let me trust you. When I do not understand them, let me trust you even more. Take what I cannot repair, control, predict, or carry alone, unite it to your perfect offering to the Father. I place my will in your hands. Live your obedience in me, your confidence in me, your love in me. And when I'm tempted to believe that darkness has the final word, turn my eyes again toward you. May your will be done in me and through me for the glory of the Father and for the good of all souls. Jesus, I trust in the victory that belongs to you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
