Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Luisa writes,

As I was in my usual state, blessed Jesus came for a little while, and embracing me wholly, He told me: “My beloved daughter, operating for Christ and in Christ makes the human work disappear completely, because by operating in Christ, since Christ is fire, He consumes the human work, and after He has consumed the human work, His fire makes it rise again into a divine work. Therefore, operate always together with Me, as if we were both doing the same thing together; if you suffer, suffer as if you were suffering together with Me; if you pray, if you work, do everything in Me and with Me. In this way you will lose the human works completely and will find them again as divine. Oh, how many immense riches creatures could acquire, but they do not avail themselves of them.

Having said this, He disappeared, and I remained with a great desire to see Him again. Then, I was outside of myself, and I kept looking for Him everywhere; and not finding Him I said: ‘Ah, Lord, how cruel You are with a soul who is all for You, and who does nothing but suffer continuous deaths for love of You! See, my will is looking for You, and not finding You, it dies continuously, because it does not find You who are the life of my will; my desires die continuously, because as they desire You and do not find You, they do not find their life. So, my breath, the heartbeats of my hearts, my memory, my intellect – everything, everything is undergoing cruel deaths; and You have no compassion for me.’

At that moment, I came back into myself and I found Him within Me; and as though wanting to give tit for tat, He kept saying: “See, I am all in you, and all for you.” He seemed to have the crown of thorns; He would push it onto His head, and blood would come out; and He would repeat: “This Blood I am shedding for love of you.” He would show me His wounds and would add: “These – all for you.” Oh, how confused I felt, seeing that my love, compared to His, was nothing but a shadow.

Welcome. This is David Russell and your faith anew daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, september twenty third, nineteen oh six, volume seven. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Jesus, draw us so close to you that nothing in this day is lived apart from you. Receive our thoughts before they become words, our choices before they become actions, and our love before we know how to express it. May everything within us belong to you, and through you become an offering pleasing to the Father. Amen. A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Colossians, chapter three, verse seventeen. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph five. Christ enables us to live in him all that he himself lived, and he lives it in us. By his incarnation, he, the Son of God, has in a certain way united himself with each man. We are called only to become one with him, for he enables us, as the members of his body, to share in what he lived for us in his flesh as our model. We must continue to accomplish in ourselves the stages of Jesus' life and his mysteries, and often to beg him to perfect and realize them in us and in his whole church. For it is the plan of the Son of God to make us and the whole church partake in His mysteries, and to extend them to and continue them in us and in His whole church. This is His plan for fulfilling His mysteries in us. Today, let us listen with a heart ready to discover what Christ desires to make of a life placed entirely in His hands. There is a tendency in the spiritual life to divide our existence into two parts the things we do for God and everything else. Prayer belongs to God. Mass belongs to God. Works of charity belong to God. But what about washing dishes? Answering an email, driving to work, caring for someone, or simply enduring a difficult afternoon. Saint Paul gives us a different vision. Whatever we do is to be done in the name of the Lord Jesus. That little word whatever changes everything. The catechism teaches in paragraph five that Christ enables us to live in Him what He Himself lived. Christianity is more than following Jesus from a distance. Through grace we are united to Him. And here we begin to glimpse something beautiful about living in the divine will. We're not simply saying, Jesus, I will do this for you. We can go deeper. Jesus, I give you my will and unite myself to yours. Come and live this moment with me. Let your love animate what I'm about to do. Then the ordinary moments of life become places of communion with Him. If you are working, invite Jesus into your work. If you are caring for someone, ask Him to love that person in and through you. If you are suffering, unite yourself to Him. If something beautiful happens, let your gratitude rise to the Father with the gratitude of Jesus Himself. This is why living in the divine will is not reserved for extraordinary moments of prayer. It reaches into everything. The smallest duty can become an act of love. A hidden sacrifice can be offered for souls. Even the ordinary movements of the day can be placed within God's eternal will and offered for his glory and for the good of all. We will forget, we will become distracted, but we can always return. Perhaps tomorrow morning we could begin with one simple intention Jesus, I enter into your divine will. Live this day in me, with me and through me. Then let him accompany everything that follows. The day may look ordinary to everyone else, but a soul united to Jesus can quietly discover that no moment is ordinary when it's surrendered to the divine will. Let us pray. Jesus, I give you this day as it truly is its duties, interruptions, joys, disappointments, conversations, silence, work, rest in everything I cannot foresee. Do not let me keep any part of myself apart from you. When I remember you, draw me closer. When I forget you, remain close to me. When my intentions become mixed or distracted, quietly turn my heart again toward the Father. I want to live in your divine will, not only in moments of prayer, but within the ordinary movements of my life. Jesus, live your life in me. May my thoughts be open to your truth, my hands available to your service, and my heart responsive to your love. And when this day is finished, may everything return to the Father through you, with you and in you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
