Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Luisa writes,

Continuing in my usual state, I found myself outside of myself together with baby Jesus. This time it seemed He felt like playing. He would press Himself against my breast and in my arms, and while looking at me with great love, now He would clasp me, now He would push me and almost knock against me with His little head, now He would kiss me so strongly that it seemed He wanted to enclose me and identify me with Himself. While He would do this, I would feel great pain - so much so, as to feel faint. But even though He would see me suffer like that He would not pay attention to me; on the contrary, if He would see from my face that I was suffering, since I would not dare to tell Him anything, He would do it harder, and would make me suffer more. Now, after He well gave vent to Himself, He told me: “My daughter, I am your master, and I can do with you whatever I want. Know that, since you are mine, you are no longer the master of yourself; and if you arbitrate something, even just one thought, one desire, one heartbeat, know that you are making a theft from Me.”

At that moment, I saw the confessor who, not feeling very well, wanted as though to unload his sufferings onto me; and all hurriedly, He pushed him away with His hand, and said: “I have to unload my own pains first, which are many, and then you can do it.” And while saying this, He drew near my mouth and poured a most bitter liqueur. Then I commended the confessor to Him, praying Him to touch him with His little hand, and to make him get well. He touched him and said: “Yes, yes.” And He disappeared.

Welcome, this is David Russell and Your Faith Anew, Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, october fifth, nineteen oh six, volume seven. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, quiet within me everything that competes with your voice. Draw my mind, my heart, and my desires toward you. Give me the freedom that comes from belonging to you without reserve. May this time of prayer deepen my trust in your love, and awaken in me a greater desire to live each moment in your holy will. Amen. A reading from the second letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians, chapter five, verses fourteen to fifteen for the love of Christ impels us. Once we have come to the conviction that one died for all, therefore all have died. He indeed died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for him, who for their sake died and was raised. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph sixteen ninety eight. The first and last point of reference of this catechesis will always be Jesus Christ Himself, who is the way and the truth and the life. It is by looking to him in faith that Christ faithful can hope that He Himself fulfills His promises in them, and that by loving Him with the same love with which He has loved them, they may perform works in keeping with their dignity. I ask you to consider that our Lord Jesus Christ is your true head, and that you are one of His members. He belongs to you as the head belongs to its members. All that is his is yours, his spirit, his heart, his body and soul, and all his faculties. You must make use of all of these as of your own, to serve, praise, love and glorify God. You belong to him, as members belong to their head. And so he longs for you, to use all that is in you as if it were his own, for the service and glory of the Father, for to me to live is Christ. Before we listen to today's reading, let us place ourselves before Jesus with the simple willingness to let him claim every part of our lives. Louisa writes. He touched him and said Yes and he disappeared. There is a great difference between saying Jesus is a part of my life and saying my life belongs to Jesus. Saint Paul gives us the foundation for this surrender. Christ died for us so that we might no longer live for ourselves, but for him. Christianity, then, is more than allowing Jesus into certain areas of our lives. Through baptism, we have entered into an entirely new existence. We belong to Christ. Yet we often discover how strongly we still cling to ownership, my plans, my time, my opinions, my reputation, my expectations. Even in prayer, we can quietly place conditions before God. Lord, I will follow you provided your will remains reasonably close to mine. But love invites us deeper. When we truly love someone, surrender begins to feel less like losing something and more like giving something. The question gradually changes from what must I give up to Jesus? What can I give you? This opens a beautiful way of understanding life in the divine will. Living in God's will does not destroy our freedom. It brings freedom to its highest purpose the loving gift of ourselves to God. We begin offering him not merely the major decisions of life, but the ordinary movements within us. A thought can become his. A decision can become his. A moment of work can become his. A hidden sacrifice can become his. Even the next heartbeat can be received as a gift from God and returned to him in love. And when we fail, we don't become discouraged. We simply return. Jesus, I took this moment into my own hands. I give it back to you. There is tremendous peace in no longer needing to possess ourselves so tightly. The soul surrendered to Christ can begin each day with empty hands. We don't need to know everything that will happen. We don't need to control every outcome. We only need to remain available to the one who loves us. Perhaps holiness begins again in this very moment with a simple offering. Jesus, I belong to you. Let us pray. Jesus, you have loved me and given yourself for me. Today I give myself again to you. Take my thoughts and purify them. Take my desires and order them toward what pleases you. Take my words, my work, my relationships, my joys and my sacrifices. When I grasp for control, teach me surrender. When self will rises within me, gently draw me back to you. Jesus, I want my freedom to become an offering of love. Receive each moment you give me, and let me return it to you in your divine will. May my life quietly proclaim I am yours. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
