Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Luisa writes,

After I received Communion, my always lovable Jesus came for a little while, and since I had had a discussion with the confessor on the nature of true love, I wanted to ask Jesus whether I was right or wrong, and He said to me: “My daughter, it is exactly like that, as you were saying – that true love facilitates everything, excludes any fear, any doubt, and all of its art is in taking possession of the beloved; and when it has made her its own, love itself provides her with the means in order to preserve the object acquired. Now, what fear, what doubt can a soul have about something that belongs to her? What can she not hope for? Even more, when she has come to take possession of it, love becomes daring and reaches the point of taking excesses up to the incredible. True love can say: ‘There is no longer yours and mine - I am yours, and you are mine; so, we can dispose of each other, delight in each other, enjoy each other. If I have acquired you, I want to use you as I please.’

How can the soul, in this state of true love, go fishing for defects, miseries, weaknesses, if the object acquired has condoned her everything, embellishes her with everything, and the object that she possesses keeps purifying her continuously? These are the virtues of true love: to purify everything, to triumph over everything, to reach everything. In fact, what love can there be for a person whom one fears, about whom one doubts, from whom one does not hope for everything? Love would lose the best of its qualities. It is true that even in the saints one can see this; and this shows that in the saints love can be imperfect and can have its variety, according to the state in which they find themselves.

In you the thing is very different: since you should be in Heaven with Me, and you have sacrificed this for love of obedience and of your neighbor, love has been confirmed in you, the will has been confirmed in not offending Me. Therefore your life is like a life that has already passed, and this is why you do not feel the burden of your miseries. So, be well attentive on what befits you, and on loving Me up to the infinite Love.”

Welcome, this is David Russell and Your Faith Anew Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, october sixth, nineteen oh nine, volume nine. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Jesus, draw us close to your sacred heart. Quiet within us every hesitation that keeps us at a distance from you. Give us the simplicity of children who know that they are loved, the confidence to place everything in your hands, and the grace to receive whatever you desire to give. May our prayer today become an act of trust, and may our hearts rest peacefully in you. Amen. A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians chapter three verses eight through twelve. To me, the very least of all the holy ones, this grace was given to preach to the Gentiles the inscrutable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for all what is the plan of the mystery hidden from ages past in God who created all things, so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the principalities and authorities in the heavens. This was according to the eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness of speech and confidence of access through faith in Him. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph two seventy seventy eight. This power of the Spirit who introduces us to the Lord's prayer is expressed in the liturgies of East and of West by the beautiful, characteristically Christian expression parishia straightforward simplicity, filial trust, joyous assurance, humble boldness the certainty of being loved. There is a beautiful freedom that begins to appear when the soul discovers how deeply it is loved by God. Let us listen with that confidence today. Saint Paul tells us that through Christ we may approach God with confidence. Yet many sincere Christians still live spiritually at a distance. We believe God loves us, but sometimes approach Him cautiously, wondering whether He really hears us or what He might ask of us. The remedy is not presumption, it is relationship. Think of a small child with a loving father. The child doesn't wonder whether he has earned the right to approach. He simply comes. His confidence rests not in his perfection, but in knowing whose child he is. That is the heart of Christian prayer. Our confidence before God is not based upon having no faults. It comes through Jesus Christ. In him we have become adopted sons and daughters of the Father. Even in our weakness, we can always return to Him. Living in the divine will deepens this trust. Instead of beginning the day simply asking God to help us accomplish our plans, we offer ourselves to Him. Jesus, let your will live and act in me. Then something begins to change. We become less occupied with ourselves and more occupied with Him. Instead of constantly asking, Am I doing enough? The heart begins asking Lord, what do you desire? And perhaps an even simpler prayer is Jesus, I belong to you. Your weakness does not surprise him. Your past does not frighten him. Your limitations do not prevent him from loving you. So today, don't remain at the doorway. Through Christ, draw near to the Father. Give him what is unfinished, wounded, uncertain, and imperfect. Then remain close to him. A soul that knows it is loved no longer needs to stand far away. Let us pray. Jesus, I belong to you. Take my thoughts, my desires, my memories, my work, my prayer, and everything this day will bring. When fear makes me hesitate, draw me closer. When I become occupied with myself, turn my gaze toward you. When I am conscious of my weakness, remind me that my confidence rests not in what I can accomplish, but in your mercy and grace. Jesus, I enter into your divine will. Live your life in me, love in me, pray in me, work in me, and lead me into the loving designs of the Father. Teach me the holy freedom of belonging completely to you, and let my whole life quietly say Jesus, I trust you. Jesus, I love you. Jesus, I am yours. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
