Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

October 8, 1901 – Volume 4

Luisa writes,

This morning, I struggled very much in waiting for my adorable Jesus; however, while waiting for Him, I did as much as I could to unite everything I was doing in my interior with the interior of our Lord, intending to give Him all the glory and reparation which His Most Holy Humanity gave Him. Now, while I was doing this, blessed Jesus came and told me: “My daughter, when a soul makes use of my Humanity as the means to operate, be it even a thought, a breath, or just any act, they are like as many gems that come out of my Humanity and present themselves before the Divinity. And since they come out through my Humanity, they have the same effects as my operating when I was on earth.” And I: ‘Ah, Lord, I feel as though a doubt: how can it be that with the simple intention in operating - be it even in the smallest things which, considered in themselves, are trivial, empty - it seems that the mere intention of union with You and of pleasing You alone fills them, and You elevate them in that supreme way, making them appear as a most great thing?’

“Ah, my daughter, the operating of the creature is empty, be it even a great work; rather, it is the union with Me and the simple aim at pleasing Me that fills it. And since my operating, be it even a breath, accesses all the works of creatures together in an infinite way, this is why it renders it so great. Besides, don’t you know that one who makes use of my Humanity as the means to do his actions comes to nourish himself of the fruits of my own Humanity, and to feed himself from my own food? Furthermore, is it perhaps not the good intention that makes a man holy, and the evil intention that makes him perverted? One does not always do different things, but with the same actions one is sanctified and another becomes perverted.”

Now, while He was saying this, I saw a flourishing tree inside Our Lord, filled with beautiful fruits, and I saw that those souls who operated to please God alone and through His Humanity were inside of Him, upon that tree, and His Humanity served as dwelling of these souls. But how so very scarce was their number.

Welcome, this is David Russell and Your Faith Anew, Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, october eighth, nineteen oh one, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Jesus, turn our hearts toward you. In the quiet duties and unnoticed moments of this day, teach us to seek you with a pure heart. Free us from the need to be seen or praised. May everything we do become an offering of love, received by you and directed to the glory of the Father. Amen. A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Colossians chapter three verse seventeen and whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph nine oh one. Hence the laity, dedicated as they are to Christ and anointed by the Holy Spirit, are marvelously called and prepared so that even richer fruits of the Spirit may be produced in them. For all their works, prayers and apostolic undertakings, family and married life, daily work, relaxation of mind and body. If they are accomplished in the Spirit, indeed even the hardships of life if patiently born, all these become spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. In the celebration of the Eucharist, these may most fittingly be offered to the Father along with the body of the Lord. And so worshiping everywhere by their holy actions, the laity consecrate the world itself to God, everywhere offering worship by the holiness of their lives. There is a beautiful freedom waiting for us when even the most ordinary parts of life are placed completely in the hands of Christ. Most of our lives are not lived in extraordinary moments. They are lived in small ones. We get dressed, we make breakfast, we answer a phone call, we drive somewhere, we wash a dish, complete a task, listen to someone speak, or quietly carry a responsibility no one else notices. And yet Saint Paul gives us an astonishing vision of Christian life. Whatever we do can be done in the name of the Lord Jesus. That changes the meaning of an ordinary day. Holiness is not confined to the moments when we are consciously doing something religious. Through baptism, our whole life belongs to Christ. The catechism teaches that even our daily work, family life, relaxation, hardships, and ordinary responsibilities can become spiritual offerings when they are lived in the spirit. The decisive question then is not simply what am I doing? It is for whom am I doing it? Two people may perform exactly the same task while something very different is taking place within their hearts. One may be seeking recognition, control, or personal satisfaction. Another may quietly say Jesus, this is for you. The action may look identical from the outside, but love has changed it from within. This helps us understand something important about living in the divine will. We don't need to escape ordinary life to find God. We invite Jesus into the ordinary. We give him our thoughts, our words, our work, our interruptions, even the things that seem insignificant. And sometimes we'll forget. That doesn't mean the day is lost. The moment we remember we can turn back to him. Jesus, I give you this, let your will reign in me. Perhaps this is one of the quiet secrets of sanctity, not doing spectacular things for God, but increasingly allowing Christ to possess the ordinary things we already do. A hidden act of love may never be noticed by another person, but nothing offered to Jesus is insignificant. Today, don't worry about making your life extraordinary. Give Christ what is already in your hands. Let us pray. Jesus, I give you this day. I give you the things I enjoy and the things I would rather avoid. I give you my work, my conversations, my waiting, my interruptions, my thoughts and the quiet moments no one else will ever see. Purify my intentions. When I seek myself, turn me gently back toward you. When I forget you, draw me again into your presence. May your divine will live and reign in me, so that the ordinary moments of my life may become acts of love offered to the Father through you. Jesus, receive everything. I want this day to belong to you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
