Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Continuing in my usual state, I saw my adorable Jesus for short instants, and He told me: “My daughter, do you know what forms sin? An act of the human will opposite to the Divine. Imagine two friends who are in opposition; if the thing is light, you would say that their friendship is not perfect and loyal. Be it even in little things, how can they love and yet oppose each other? True love is to live in the will of the other, even at the cost of sacrifice. If then the thing is grave, not only are they not friends, but they are fierce enemies. Such is sin. Opposing the Divine Will is the same as making God one’s enemy; be it even in little things, it is always the creature that puts herself in opposition to the Creator.”

Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, october eighteenth, nineteen oh three, volume five. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, you have given us the precious gift of freedom and the grace to seek you with our whole hearts. Quiet the distractions within us, awaken our desire for holiness, and help us recognize the gentle movements of your grace. May this time of prayer draw us nearer to your Son, who reveals the fullness of your love. Amen. A reading from the book of the Prophet Ezekiel, chapter thirty six, verses twenty six and twenty seven. I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh, and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you, so that you walk in my statutes, observe my ordinances, and keep them. The catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph two thousand and two. God's free initiative demands man's free response, for God has created man in his image by conferring on him, along with freedom, the power to know him and love him. The soul only enters freely into the communion of love. God immediately touches and directly moves the heart of man. He has placed in man a longing for truth and goodness that only he can satisfy. The promises of eternal life respond beyond all hope to this desire. If at the end of your very good works you rested on the seventh day, it was to foretell by the voice of your book that at the end of our works, which are indeed very good since you have given them to us, we shall also rest in you on the Sabbath of eternal life. As we turn to today's passage from the book of Heaven, let us listen with a heart ready to receive whatever grace the Lord desires to give Louisa writes. If then the thing is grave, not only are they not friends, but they are fierce enemies. Such is sin. Opposing the divine will is the same as making God one's enemy, be it even in little things. It is always the creature that puts herself in opposition to the Creator. There is something remarkable about the way Jesus approaches the human heart. He does not come to destroy our freedom, he comes to heal it. Consider the words of the prophet Ezekiel. God promises his people a new heart and a new spirit. He speaks of a transformation so profound that his people will be able to walk according to his ways. Notice where this transformation begins, not with human achievement, but with God's initiative. This is an essential truth of our Catholic faith. Holiness is not something we manufacture through determination alone. It is the work of divine grace received and embraced through our cooperation. And yet God never treats us though our freedom were unimportant. He desires our willing response. Think about the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Annunciation. The angel Gabriel announces something beyond anything Mary could have imagined. She does not understand every detail of what lies ahead. Nevertheless, she entrusts herself to God. Her response is beautiful because it is freely given. And through that response, the mystery of the incarnation unfolds. Now consider something closer to our own experience. Perhaps you've carried a resentment for years. You know that Christ calls you to forgive, but the wound remains painful. You may even pray for the grace to forgive while discovering that your heart is not yet ready. What does Jesus desire in that moment? Certainly not a performance of holiness. He desires the truth of your heart. You can approach him and say, Lord, I cannot seem to forgive, but I want you to make me capable of forgiving. That simple prayer can become the beginning of something extraordinary. Grace is already at work when we sincerely desire the good that we cannot yet accomplish. This does not mean that our choices cease to matter. They matter enormously. Every day presents opportunities to respond to the grace God provides. But we must remember that Christian perfection is not a life without struggle. It's a life increasingly transformed by charity. And this brings us to a beautiful invitation of living in the divine will. We are not seeking to become less human. We are asking God to bring our humanity into its fullest communion with Him. Jesus reveals Himself in this mystery perfectly. In His sacred humanity, He offers the Father the obedience of a loving Son. His surrender is not defeat, it is the triumph of love. When we receive Holy Communion, we encounter that same Jesus who gives himself completely. What might happen if after receiving Him we simply remained quiet and allowed His presence to deepen our desire for holiness? No extraordinary experience is necessary, only a heart willing to be changed. And perhaps that is where our greatest freedom begins. When we discover that belonging entirely to God is not the loss of ourselves, but the fulfillment of everything we were created to be. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, I adore you. Present in the mystery of your infinite love. You know the hidden places of my heart, the wounds I carry, and the graces I have not yet fully welcomed. I place them all before you. Where I am afraid, give me confidence. Where I am stubborn, teach me humility. Where my love is weak, strengthen it with your own. Jesus, I desire to live in your divine will. May your grace shape my thoughts, purify my intentions, and sanctify the ordinary moments of my life. I offer you my freedom, not because I wish to lose it, but because I trust your love more than my understanding. Remain with me, Lord, and may the Father find in my heart an ever deepening welcome for his holy will. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
