Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.

Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.

David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.

In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.

In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:

“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

Luisa writes,

As I was in my usual state, I felt I was going outside of myself, and I found

a child crying, and also several men; and one of them, more serious, took a most

bitter drink and gave it to that crying child, who suffered so much in swallowing

it, that his throat seemed to choke. Not knowing who he was, out of compassion

I took him in my arms, saying to him: ‘Yet, he is a serious man, and did this to

you. Poor little one, come to me, for I want to dry your tears.’ And he said to me:

“True seriousness is found in religion, and true religion consists in looking at one’s

neighbor in God, and at God in one’s neighbor.” Then, drawing close to my ear,

so much so, that his lips touched me and his voice resounded in my interior, he

added: “The word ‘religion’ is a ridiculous word for the world, and it seems to be

worth nothing. Yet, before Me every word that pertains to religion is a virtue of

infinite value; so much so, that I made use of the word in order to propagate the

faith in the whole universe, and one who exercises himself in this serves Me as

mouth to manifest my Will to creatures.” As He was saying this, I understood very

well that it was Jesus. On hearing His clear voice which I had not heard for so long

I felt myself rise again from death to life. I was waiting for Him to finish speaking

to tell Him of my extreme needs, but – no, as soon as I stopped hearing His voice,

He disappeared, and I was left disconsolate and afflicted.

Welcome, this is David Russell and your faith anew, daily reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, november first, nineteen oh two, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, awaken within us a love that is attentive to your presence. Free us from whatever makes our hearts indifferent, impatient or distracted. Through the grace of your Holy Spirit, teach us to receive each moment as an opportunity to belong more completely to you. May our lives give glory to your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen. A reading from the first letter of Saint John, chapter four verses seven through twelve. Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God. Everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love. In this way the love of God was revealed to us. God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as expiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God, yet if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is brought to perfection in us. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in Paragraph nineteen thirty one. Respect for the human person proceeds by way of respect for the principle that everyone should look upon his neighbor without any exception as another self. Above all bearing in mind his life and the means necessary for living it with dignity. No legislation could by itself do away with the fears, prejudices and attitudes of pride and selfishness which obstruct the establishment of truly fraternal societies. Such behavior will cease only through the charity that finds in every man a neighbor, a brother. Let us enter into today's reading with a quiet heart, attentive to what the Lord desires to awaken within us. There is something amazing about the way Jesus chooses to remain present in the world. He could have established his kingdom through overwhelming displays of power. He could have made his presence so unmistakable that no one would ever question his existence. Instead, he established a church, entrusted his gospel to ordinary people, and commanded his disciples to love one another. And through that love the world would come to recognize him. Saint John tells us that love comes from God. This is much more than a beautiful religious sentiment. It reveals something essential about the Christian life. We don't create divine love through our own determination. We receive it as a gift, and through grace we become capable of sharing it. Consider how differently we might approach another person if we remembered that Christ died for that soul, the impatient driver, the difficult relative, the person whose opinions seem impossible to understand, even someone who has wounded us. Each possesses a dignity that does not depend upon our approval. And each is someone Jesus desires to draw into communion with himself. This does not mean pretending that wrongdoing is acceptable. Christian charity never requires abandoning truth. In fact, genuine love sometimes demands the courage to speak truth, establish boundaries, or offer correction. But charity changes the spirit in which we act. We no longer approach another person merely as someone to convince, tolerate, or avoid. We begin to recognize a soul entrusted to God's mercy. The catechism reminds us that our responsibility toward others begins with recognizing their dignity as persons created in God's image. Christian charity invites us to go beyond simply treating people fairly. It calls us to see each person as someone worthy of our attention, compassion, and respect, even when doing so requires personal sacrifice. We may know our prayers, understand Catholic teaching, and participate faithfully in the sacraments. These are wonderful gifts. Yet their purpose is to bring us into deeper union with Jesus Christ. And union with Jesus must gradually transform the way we love. Here we discover something beautiful about living in the divine will. It's not simply a matter of asking God to bless the things we have already decided to do. It is learning to surrender our own preferences so that His love may govern our choices. Perhaps the greatest opportunity for holiness today will arrive without any warning. Someone may interrupt our plans, someone may need our patience, someone may deserve a kindness that costs us more than we expected. In that ordinary moment, we can choose to act with Christ. We can offer him our attention, our words, our willingness to serve. And what appears insignificant to the world can become an offering of extraordinary love. For the measure of a Christian life is not how much attention we receive for our faith, but how faithfully we allow the love of Christ to become visible through us. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, I adore you as the source of every good and holy love. I thank you for loving me before I ever knew how to love you in return. There are still places within my heart where self-interest speaks more loudly than charity. I place them before your sacred heart. Do not permit me to become satisfied with merely appearing faithful. Give me the grace to belong to you completely. And when I encounter another soul today, may your divine will direct my response, so that something of your goodness may be present through my life. Jesus, let me love with you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
